Anyone else here a backpacker? I live in the Seattle area and try to get out every week for a day hike. I currently work 6 day weeks so I haven't been able to put the tent to much use. Planning a 2 week trip to Denali next year with my brother. Anyone in the PNW interested in meeting up?

I used to live in Upstate New York and New England and did a lot of hiking in the Adirondacks and on the Northern end of the AT. I haven't hiked too much of the PCT since I moved out here. I have a dream of one day thru-hiking the AT, or at least doing each section one at a time.

I just spent 5 days in northern Michigan doing the high country pathway. Finished the trip by bowhunting for a couple of days and harvesting a whitetail!

I live in Issaquah. Ive been on 61 hikes so far this year. My last hike was to Rainy lake up the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie. I get out all over the state. Drop me a line if you want to get out sometime.

Currently, I live in Lacey with my wife. We would love to get out more often however I am stuck in Ass-crack-istan.

:CAMPING: look forward to having fun this summer.

For now, Hurricane Ridge, and areas in Cle-Elum, Clearwater Wilderness, some great areas...

I do backpacking, mostly either day trips (or my Boundary Waters that is portaging/ backpacking).

A favorite trail of mine that goes through Wisconsin is the North Country Trail.

Also, there are various places that you can go for multi-day trips in the Midwest including the Superior Hiking Trail, the Gunflint Trail, and pretty much most of the Porcupine Mountains/ Picture Rocks parks. They have some dedicated camping spots, but also what they call "backpacking" sites, which essentially places they'd like to have you camp, but there are guidelines for "backcountry" backpacking that dictates various rules for camping in general backcountry areas without a dedicated site.

Wisconsin, MN, and the UP of Michigan all have a quite a bit of area in the northern parts that are nice backpacking places.
