If everything goes according to plan I'll be graduating my PA school in late summer early Fall 2015. Then I promised I'd take my wife to Europe. But If time and funds allow after that I'd love to make this trip. I've always wanted to drive to very Northern Alaska. If this by chance gets pushed back to 2016 I'd be much more likely to go, but like I said it's hard to foresee my schedule while still in class. But I will try to get off for this. Fingers crossed!

My wife and I fully intend to make the trip. I'm pretty sure that kskj will make the trip. Yellowcoyote has been to Alaska, but hasn't made the entire trip to the arctic circle. I'm in the process of getting a house built. Once the house is finished, then we will be free to go! Due to unforeseen circumstances in my home construction, I have kept pushing the trip further back. At this rate, 2016 would be best for us also.

I don't think you can a take a gun across the Canadian border. But I’m glad to see that you’re in for a 2015/2016 trip. 8)

You can take a firearm across the Canadian border as long as you follow the rules. The ones who usually have problems are the ones that don't declare their firearms at the border. You can even apply for a 5 year Canadian Firearms Possesion and Acquisition licence if so inclined.

It is best if you are only bring what are defined by Canadian law as non-restricted firearms. Leave the pistols and rifles with 30 round mags at home.

But we did - we even camped overnight above the Arctic Circle! We didn't go all the way to Prudhoe Bay/Deadhorse though... no time left for that. :(

Let me correct that statement. Yellocoyote has been to Alaska, but hasn't made the entire trip to Prudhoe Bay and jumped in the arctic ocean as vowed to do! How's that Jayme?
