Hello everyone,
I've decided I need to but a 12V/240V camping fridge mainly due to the unreliability of cold storage from the 3 way fridge in the van. Particularly in summer.
I have spent a great deal of time researching and reading reviews and getting a variety of opinion. Not really affirming as so many seem to have failing switch gear, constant error codes and generally poor build quality.
Truth is I can't afford an expensive Engel or like so I'm a bit restricted.
Hoping someone has had experience with the Kings fridges from Caravan and Motorhome. Perhaps a 55L like on the RefrigeratorFAQ. Maybe you have experience with some of them
Would really love some real life experience from a forum like this with such a wide range of experience.
Thanks everyone who can help.

Plenty have Kings fridges in Australia & have not heard any problems. They are like most Kings stuff ~ Chinese.
I have a 3.7 KVA Kings generator that is good.
Friends of mine have their swags, not so good on build quality. In Australia,if you have a problem, they usually just send you another.

Take a look at these, Campervan Kevin on YouTube gave it good reviews. Watch at:> https://youtu.be/VFyCHireM5g?t=890
Has pretty good reviews overall online.
Runs on 12v or 110v. They can be used as a refrigerator or a freezer. They also have some larger units that are split refrigerator/freezer type.
I believe they have a metal outside structure.

From the Whynter web site: wrote:
The Whynter portable freezers should not to be confused with less effective 12 volt novelty and beverage type “coolers”, the Whynter portable freezer fridge is a true freezer/refrigerator which cools between -6°F to 50°F.

I've hade the Edgestar 40 for about 4+ years. So far it's been working good. I have an axillary battery for it, but only lasts about 1 1/2 days. Camping for for more than 5 days necessitates lots of battery charging.
