What do you guys think about these axles?
14 bolt has locker $750 , Dana 60 $900 , Both for $1400 (both out of a Chevy, not sure what)
DANA 60 FRONT LATE MODEL DODGE $800 COMPLETE HUB TO HUB
Divorce Transfer Case 205 $200.00
FRONT AND REAR DANA 70 READY TO LOAD IN YOUR TRUCK $900.00
1 FRONT AND 1 REAR DIFFERENTIAL READY TO LOAD IN YOUR TRUCK. $1000.00
1991 F350 Single Wheel Dana 60 (steering axle) - $700
What about dana 44's? Would they be better or worse than an HPD30?
There are many D60's out thee, many you want to stay away from since they are basically junk, read this D60 bible--
http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/60_front/index.html.Basically no Chevy front diff will work since they are passenger side drop and you need a drivers side drop axle.Stay away from divorced t-cases,the KJ does not have the wheelbase to run a divorced t-case.D70's are cool but very huge, better to covert a front D60 to a hybrid using D70 outers to make it just as strong,a C14 rear diffs are cheaper and stronger then a D70 rear. You'll need to run at 40" tires to gain any clearance with D70's or the C14 diffs.Stay away from newer Doge D60's,info will be listed why in the D60 bible. If you pay more them $250 for a C14 rear diff you paid to much,it would need to be built pretty good to be worth anything, there easily found for real cheap.
HP44's from '73-'77 F-100/F-150's are very good axles,what I'm using on my SFA(front).
