Ok ok ok. So I bought this rig from the last guy who had it. I didn't get much history on the rig, just the info here, which includes the following. The previous owner was trying to do some preventative maintenance on the rig and was replacing the timing belt. Well, anyone who has done timing on a rig know just how bad it can go. And it did. But he was told that that engine was designed for someone to screw up the timing and that instead of the valves getting damaged, the rocker arms deform. I have the rig at the shop right now in 20 pieces and we'll find out the health of that engine in not too long.

I already don't like the Dana 30 / Chrysler 8.25. I have to make a decision, do I turn this into a serious crawler on 37" tires or keep it as what I intended it for is a dog and junk runner with the ability to go shoot in remote areas. Apparently both axles have some sort of traction device so that's good. Rig needs all new tires. Was thinking about 34x11.50R17.

Anyway, I'll try to keep up with this thread. One thing I know I'll need help with is that ABS issue with the new solid axle. I want to register this rig so I can't have any dash lights on.
