I don't think pics of hookers of any human variety (not headers) would be allowed by the sensors on the forum Tom.... :juggle:

I can't remember where I got those pictures... I think it was a very old thread in a Australian jeep forum, but couldn't find it anymore... I remember the owner had a lot of problems with this steering system (OEM rack and pinion), but for the length of those coilovers it should flex like a boneless hooker

Still Finishing up the driver side coil mounts so it's not on its own weight yet.

Woes of advice make sure you beef up your steering box area and tracker area. Ask me how I know from this!

It will be about 2" before the upper arm bracket hits the cradle.

What you are missing is that the Factory Cradle is no longer there the new setup offers a lot more clearance, Up travel is set to 4 inches, in that picture the Coilover isn't connected to the axle or the shock hoop either for that matter (I didn't notice until just now) Up travel is over rated anyways. The mount on the driver side comes with in half an inch of of touching, Passenger side is way off from hitting anything at full stuff. I have a set of Daystar Jounce stops I've been eyeing at work that may get employed up there. Yes I am at what appears to be right in the 6" neighborhood, but until it's back on the ground on it's own weight I won't be giving out any numbers as things could change as they have 4 or 5 times during this build. I think anyone who has been part of a Liberty SAS can attest to the fact that nothing is final until it's back on it's tires, The Ballistic cover may be swapped out (we might just rework it some?) because the steering hits it pretty hard. The exhaust work won't be easy on this one either.

Ok, then if the upper control arms brackets are way off from hitting, what other items limits the up travel??... maybe the steering or track bar links???... How much did you have to come up through the engine bay the front coil overs??

Sorry for a lot of questions but I would like to SFA my Liberty only if I can keep it as low as yours...

About 4.5" into the engine bay, not much else limits up travel but the upper mounts hitting the motor mount area. I only ever wanted 4" of up travel I went to 12" Coilovers from 14's so that I didn't have to go to far up in the engine bay there isn't alot of room there at all my mounts look like the ones used on that Australian build except my mounts will be bolt in. The rear was tricky to get set up to only run 4" (14" travel Bilstien 5150's there) of up travel and to get the arms set right, We may be moving the upper mounts up under the rear seat to get better seperation.

The Rear 864's are way too tall for me, so I went with 891's
Image

This is with the 864's out back There was about 3/4 of an inch to spare between the jack stand and wheel well
Image
this is with the 891's the yellow jack stands are half an inch shorter than the red ones in the previous picture
Image
It will drop another 1/2 inch when the upper spring ads are fixed as well, The coils didn't seat all the way because the coil doesn't fit properly over the retainer assembly.

Back on it's own weight after 7 months :) The ride height needs to be adjusted up some.

The picture doesn't show it well but there's a inch and a quarter between the CO spring and body.

Bolt in shock hoops anyone?
