Not doin' it. One SFA KJ in the family is enough.

You talked about how sweet it rides, when I first looked at the Wranglers they felt Top heavy and a little tipsy. The more solid feeling the KJ gave me were preferable. With the new set up it's impressive and will I'm sure be great off road especialy when you come against a TJ or other Jeeps only to have you embarrass them with you KJ. I am so pleased with the handleing of my KJ I'm really interested in the difference of your Road Warrior.

There is a chance it won't be making the trip on Sat..... I have an exhaust vibration that is driving me mad just driving it around town. I seriously doubt I will want to drive it 2+ hours to Calico and back w/ that dang noise. Hoping I can find it and fix it tomorrow. :?

Congratulations JJ, I can't wait to get mine done but I think I'm about 2 years behind you on this. Hopefully all the SFA KJs make it to Moab and you guys can get a picture taken with all of them together.

Oh I'll be there, just in Kathys KJ if I can't make any progress this afternoon.

Final cost? I am working on it. I have a long list of things to go through, some of it purchased two years ago the 1st time I was going to start this project. I will have a break down of everything in the near future.

BTW, This will be a continuing saga. I will share as much as I can about this project and the future changes, fixes and such. This will be a diary of not only the build but the life of an SFA KJ.
Stay tuned.

Post subject:  Update....

Ok, I removed a bracket that holds the exhaust at the trans/transfer case area. It helped w/ some of the idle and low speed exh. vibration i was getting.
Here is the bracket. Not sure if all KJ's have this or not. Sure all 03's do though.
Image
The metal rod was welded to the exh pipe and then slips into the rubber bushing. I think it was kinda forced into there and allowing the pipe to just touch the underside insulation. Under acceleration the vibration was Killer. much better now.

So I never had my camera w/ me during my drive home this week so I just snapped some quick driveway shots......I'll get some mall shots later.....

Told ya I would be back w/ a Mall shot (had to go p/u my son from the AV mall so perfect timing) Notice the bit of curb flex

Went back to the spot (Quartz Hill, Ca. looking over the Lancaster area, in the distance is Mojave) where one of my first dirt shots were taken (see page 1). There is a nice rutted off camber hill climb leading up to this spot but tough area to take pics and you can't linger or the cops will chase you away fom the water tanks that are on the hill. (I also have a Geocache up there)

JJ, that is just awesome. You got a real pretty rig there. It looks like the axles may have been moved forward in the front. Were either axles moved when they built this monster up?
