Nothing.. never ever ever seen an offroad pic. It was for sale on ebay prior to Christmas but I didn't sell, wasn't engineered either and would be very hard to pass in Aust. So I'm not sure where it is now but if it was being wheeled it would pop up on the net.

Point taken. I suppose if it was being wheeled someone somewhere would have snapped a pic right?!

Here's a shot of the steering gubbins. I'm afraid I don't understand it, but I'm sure you guys do. I believe it utilises the original KJ steering rack adapted to a drag link setup.

I am absolutely intrigued by this steering setup... it seems like a great way to cut more costs from the SFA build, though I do question the R+P's "moability" cranking on 35's. Here's a question for JJ and whoever else might have some input...

If you were to replace that stabilizer with a ram assist setup, do you think that would take any stress off of the rack? Those kits seem to be pretty cheap these days and it seems like a feasible way to cut some significant labor costs out of the picture as opposed to installing/bracing a steering box. Whatcha think? Would it even work? I don't even know if there is any way to tap our setup to run it..... would be cool though

Well considering the problems some have had w/ the rack & pinion breaking, I wouldn't trust that setup at all for wheeling duty.

I just had to replace my power steering pump due to a leak. I also wouldn't trust IT w/ powering a ram setup. Between buying and making a ram setup work, I don't know what real cost savings there would be over making a recirculating ball box work the way most have already.

That said, when I move up to D60's and 37's in the future, I will be hunting down a better PS pump, hydro assist, etc. for mine.

yeah right......by then the KJ will be a mall cruiser and I will be working on that setup on a Hemi JK.

I didn't know the pump itself was such a solid piece of engineering as well... AWESOME!!

Back to the drawing board....hmmm what if I just installed a rudder?

This is the mob that did the work on the Aus SFA KJ, from memory the steering did fail. Not sure what was done to fix it but these pic's are all old.

Here for sale is the most custom built KJ Jeep in Australia. The vehicle has been used as a display vehicle in the Melbourne 4x4 show and other shows. All parts are new and has had over $60K worth of parts and work done to it, but I have a reserve set so low it's MADNESS, so bid up as this is the bargin of the year.

I will try and list most of the bits and pieces on the Jeep, but there are 100's of little bits that I may miss as there is 1000's of man hours been put into it.

Toomraider roof light kit

2x 240 XGT Lightforce lights

2x 170 Lightforce lights

2x driving lights set into the bull bar

2x reversing lights (you can never have enough lights)

ARB colorcodes winch bar

9000 winch

Plazma winch rope

Custom colorcoded sliders

Custom rear tube bar

Swing away wheel carrier and jerrycan holder

2x ARB air compressors

315x75x16 Mickeythompson MTZ tyres x5

120L custom fuel tank

UHF radio

Live axle front diff conversion using a Dana 44 out of an F100

5 link front suspension

New 456 gear ratio's fitted along with an ARB air locker and all bearings and seals replaced

Custom Radflo coilover shocks along with Eibach springs fitted to custom mounts

Custom A frame rear suspension

New 456 gear ratio's fitted also with ARB air locker along with all bearings and seals replaced

Custom Radflo coilover shocks along with Eibach springs fitted to custom mounts

Custom rear adjustable sway bar

Custom H/D steering arms

Custom AGR steering box

Custom H/D tailshafts

Custom Exhaust

Braided braklines

Tinted windows

Airbrushed Diff covers

And it's got VIC rego

Vehicle comes regestered BUT NO RWC ect. Vehicle comes as is where is, no warrantys or returns.

Will assist in parts and or part numbers for all custom parts ect if needed.

There is plenty more but you just have to look at it for hours to see it all. It has been a huge build and has many 1000 man hours put into it and a pitty to see it go.

You can come for a look if interested Im in Bayswater but please only if you are interested in buying it.

I reserve the right to remove from auction at any time as its advertised elsewhere also.

This is another SFA KJ that doesnt sit high. How is that possible? I see there was problems with the steering components etc... But was that due to a poor steering setup or could the amount of lift effected it? Does the way they have the coilovers setup allow it to sit at that height? Doesnt seem like there is enough room for the tires to stuff when flexing either though. Im just trying to learn as much as possible about SFA KJ's. KJ's seem so much more difficult to do a SFA.

I wonder why this SFA sits so much lower than the others? Any ideas?

I gave Cheezy a call to see what it would cost to get one of those rear bar's made. $1600 to $1700, + extra for the swingaway. Not cheap, but looks good.

I could set mine down that low but where would the tires go? It looks like it only has a couple inches of uptravel before the tires rip the flares off. as well as mine wroks off road now, I doubt I will mess w/ teh ride height any time soon.
