JJ can you explain to a novice what's in the first 4 pics please.

On the rims I'd say a little Bling a day keeps the Dr away :D

Sure, I will edit them w/ some text. I meant to do that but was getting sleepy as I was finishing up the post.

Yeah, as I was scrolling through the pics the first thing that came to mind was "Money, Money, Money"

For the wheels a good set of steelies with beadlockers is all the bling a trail rig ever needs. Although, with all the money going into it, maybe some chrome dubs would be appropriate.

My idea of bling was & is Chrome Soft 8's, & I'd say about as tough as they get. I do agree on the bead locks, with the place's you'll be able to take your SFA KJ you may want them

Soft 8's in black are at the top of my list right now but mostly due to cost. I had not figured wheels into my budget which is real tight now that the money has really begun to flow.

Its all good though, it is just the nickle & dime stuff that starts to add up once a project like this starts taking shape. When it is all said and done I will be honest and accurate about what it cost so others can see what it can add up to.

Hey JJsKJ since you got everything stripped from the underbody are you going to RhinoLine the bottom tub of the Jeep? I think that would be the best time to do that if you ever where going to do that. :D

I don't see any reason to. If I lived somewhere wet and where they used salt on the roads I might consider it but it has rained about 2 times in the last year here and barely at that.

I was looking at those. If they are not real beadlocks then I am not interesed though. I would just run regular wheels.

Don't tell me you're gonna go cheap on wheels! With the money you're spendin? Can you say "JELOC" (new nickname!) Jeep Equity Line Of Credit!!! (you know, like HELOC?) Funny huh?
Anyhow, here's my suggestion. http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:vwLkQtSVwv5MKM:http://www.jeephorizons.

Can't beat the price and dependability of a good set of steel rims!!!!!!They won't shatter like the alloy versions, just bend,a BFH can straighten them out in a jiffy on the trail.I know, had to do it once myself.Might want to chech with Discount tires,Unique Steel makes all of those steel rims(even the Crager soft 8's),they have some good $$$ on them even the fake beaklock steel rims.

Man, makes me want to book an appointment next year at ALL J's and get my KJ in for an SFA, depending how work goes in the winter.

Too bad your about 1200miles away. Im loosing a bit of heart being so far from the action. Nobody around here that has KJ's wheels!

Keep us posted on the budget. Maybe you can make a list of parts you used at the end so guys like me know what to collect.

Keep up the good work!

Hey Marty,
I sent you a PM a few weeks back with some tech questions. Did you get it?
BTW, what is the status/time frame on getting the RL front bumper for my 06 Renegade KJ?
Matt

You made me go and research JJ. ]I can't believe it, but the Classic Locks are NOT true bead-locks. I'm changing my vote. I always thought that Mickey Thompsons were true beadlocks. My new vote is for a set of Micket Thompson Classic IIs...

Image

...with a Champion Beadlock C-1 conversion

Image

Or you could just get Champion's Baja with the C-1 ring.

Well, you asked for function or bling...I found some functional bling. Come on, you can slide a few extra thousand into the SFA conversion budget. :D

Okay, maybe not. Then I'll vote for Soft 8s. You can put that chrome center cap on and call it bling. 8)

pass on the chrome IMO, looks plain silly to me. It you want something kinda shiny go with the natural steel color instead of black.

Here is a Link I found on Xtreme 4x4 on Spike TV. I hope this give you the direction you were looking for in real bead locks.
Go To: http://www.alliedwheel.com/gallery.htm

Hope it helps I just wish I had a fat enough piggy bank to even consider what your doing. I can't wait for the next instalment if pic. and update. :D
