JJ,
If you're that worried about it, I'll get off my stupid and wire the darn thing up already.
I just don't mind the missing speedo for before mentioned reasons, but the ring is already in the D44 Diff... All I need to do is drill the housing for the old KJ sensor, set the depth correctly and reconnect the wires Quinn cut when we tried to pull it off the Tera sensor. I was waiting until our D44 diff covers showed up so I didn't have to reseal the damned thing again just to swap the covers, but if you're that stressed, I'll just knock it out and see if it works.
I honestly don't see any reason why the ring out of the Isuzu won't work with only 3 more teeth on it... it fit right on the RD116, and it's made from the same material, so the signal should be fine, although you'd have to lose the POS Detroit you have now ;) Thoughts from Kory?

I am not all that stressed, just trying to Nail this topic down so it won't be an issue any more. I am going to guess that the Isuzu Dana 44 tone wheel Won't fit on the Detroit though I have not looked into it. I could probably wait for a month before I have to Nail this down so if you want to wait that is cool. (hell, I'll send you some gear lube if it helps  )
I would lose the Detroit if I could swing a killer deal on the rear ARB but I have to watch my budget or there will be problems later. I also wanted to figure out a fix for this that didn't Require buying an ARB so others could chose their rear locker or limited slip and still make it work. Trust me, I am pretty sure I would prefer the ARB though as I know how the Detroit is going to be on road. Anyhow, if you can get it figured out by using what you have that would be great and I am sure others would be happy to know too. Thanks!

Got a reply from Detroit today, they are passing the information request to another group that contracted for the electrical work. But hey it is progress and a reply even if it is just getting passed around the offices.
Will update when I have it.

I got the Dakota digital converter today. Looking through the manual for it I think it just might work.

really dug up an oldie eh?

I used a South American Dana 44 from a KJ that had the pick up in the housing and made the ring fit the ARB locker. It works great. Problem is getting more SA D44's into the U.S. is a challenge and expensive.

Troy didn't use the Ford 9" and ended up running a signal converter off the transfer case. Not sure how that shook out. Pretty srue the details of that are in his build write up.

Many others that have built a SFA have stuck w/ the 8.25 rear so there was no issue. If I did another SFA i'd probably do the same and just beef up the 8.25 unless I just had to run 35" or larger tires. (33" work great so why bother)

I plan on using to 30/8.8 I have in my tj -4.88's and lockrights-and thought about using the Ford tone ring then maybe adapting the Jeep sensor in the axle. . ..I've searched and could not find anyone with a kj -8.8" swap

Using the Dakota digital converter/calibrator and a signal generator off of the Atlas 2 speed. In lieu of the 8.25 axle tone ring, as I have the Ford 9".
Troy is using the same setup for a yr now and it works well.
