realize this is a waaaaay late post, but was watching barrett jackson auto auction the other day and saw a blue 74 vette, with solid axles, it was built into a mud racer.

I hate when people do that...they should be put in prison!! Just because your filthy rich should give you the right to ruin a piece of history like that. :x

you would shoot me for what we used to build back in the late 70s early 80s...then... 68 and a 69 Chevelle, 65 Plymouth, 69 VW bug, 7 Dodge vans all with 38s/40s an old caddy 66/67 I think hearse,70 I think Trans Am the cars were a dime a dozen then, what they heck even knew one guy who did a Corvair!!

JJ...remember...even a TJ ain't a real Jeep. No leaf springs :lol: Bring that up if anybody gives you any flak (which I don't see happening...that's a bad-ass rig)

Tom...I'll take an SWB 3/4 ton 80-91ish Ford van with a D60 front and rear with a 205 t-case and a 300I6. Whenever you get bored, ya know. Shouldn't take too long, right? :lol:

No leafs here either.... :? Not worried about it at all, I have round headlights and a Jeep badge on the hood.

So the total cost was about $24k without the purchase of the vehicle?

Mine ran around $24k-ish to do most of the project (which never ends really) Similar in cost to what you would spend on a full monty project on a LJ w/ Nth parts, built axles, Rubi case, coil-overs, etc. Costly for sure but I am worth it! :wink: :D
