It just depends where you live and the locale cops. Here in Florida it doesn't matter how far out your tires are. That is one of the reasons I might eventually remove all my flairs. Terry |

Awesome choice in tires Troy...I think Toyo makes some of the best tires ever. They look awesome. I'm excited to see this build in process.... |

I fully understand keeping the power plant and using the gearing to do the work. With the wheels stickng out further does that keep it street leagle?? I'm asking a lot of questions but I think this is way a Cool project. No my KJ will still be my DD,going to be walking during the build(might be "testing" USAFCOP's SFA KJ while mine is apart ).As far as the brakes I'm going factory size front disc's for a '76 Ford F-150(with GM calipers) and the rear will have 12" Wilwood disc's with internal parking brake(drum style P. brake).Got some top secret ways to cover those tires (stay tuned)
Well the parts keep coming in,so far--- Have all the parts for the HP44,locker,gears,1350 yoke, alloy axles,Crane high steer knuckles, ball joints, brakes, and lockouts.Just need to get it assembled. RockJock 60 ordered along with AtlasII 4.3 t-case,Currie AntiRock sway bar,and RE TJ long arms. Just need to get the steering box, steering stuff(tie rod ends and such),driveshafts(1350 u-joints through out),springs, shocks, and brake lines---though the last 4 things will have to wait for lengths needed.Oh and the whole drivetrain will be 1 ton rated. |

Are you sure that one ton rated is enough I must appauld your choices so far the best way I could think of or otherwise almost the way I would do it ! |
