Saw this at the annual PA Jeeps show
Image
Built by Mount Zion offroad and EMS offroad. Originally it was built with the Rock Krawler 7up lift but same old story, drove and road like crap and conitnually broke. So they scrapped the front end , reused the coilovers that came with the 7up and used and HP30 out of an older XJ. The rear end still used the original 7up lift with the stock Corp 8.25. they said the hardest part of the lift was mounting the steerring box and running the shaft to it. They also used RE long arms up front to attach the HP30 to the Jeep.

They took it out on the course and it did very well, althought the had to stay off the big rocks as the KJ is not locked.

Doesn't look right with a stock bumper.

RK 7-up Lift = plastic version of a Slinky.

I did not get any pics of it wheeling as it came on the course as I was driving off. I did take several pics of the underside of it. I will get them up later when I get home from work.

I have seen better looking ones on here as well, but this is the first one I have seen in person. As I was heading off the course and he was coming on, I had to stop and ask him questions. Apparently, the KJ is for sale.

*dons the flame suit*

From what I can tell, it looks reasonably well thought-out.

I wish I could look at that upper tri-link in the rear though. In that last pic the welds looked a tad sloppy.

I agree not too bad but just sat for 5 minutes trying to see the rear a little better, interesting

I just looked again...and it's a FOUR link rear. two Heim joints at the top of the rearend.

I kinda like it.

The rear has a truss that the two heims bolt to. Pretty sure they used the stock rear upper mounts. Here is a pic, but it is kind of blurry. Camera must have focussed on the springs instead of the truss.

Interesting coilover mount in the front.

Hey you never know RK might sell this as a kit.

from the way it reads it started out as a RK kit, but since it was junk , someone else tried to make it right.
If RK did make it available for even 500 bucks including the front axle I would have to pass as they are on the same list as some other vendors who sell JUNK!

I know their reputation on the board... Now I am no pro but this doesn't look half bad. I like the fact that you can keep the 8.25 (save $$). I am not sure about the front mounts but only because I have never seen that setup.

front mounts are not the way I would do it but yet it was easy to do and also keep the stock width on the axles to match the rear, so I see they had no other real choice but......... :?
