IIRC, the XJ is lighter than a KJ.

Why is this guy selling the axle? If he is doing it to move up, you may be $$$ ahead to just go where he is going from the start.

Fix it for you!

He is going to go to a 44 and possibly go up in tire size as well. I only plan on running 33s and the built up 30 he is selling is a perfect application for what I need regardless of whether my KJ is heavier than his XJ. It is plenty strong enough for what I need.
35" tires is about the max you'd want to run with any D44 if you hit the knarly stuff and alloy axles are a must.

He's not sure about going bigger as far as tires. It'd take more body work to allow stuffing and what not. I am sure he'd build the 44 up from the standard configuration like he did the 30. I'll be sticking with 33s.

I took a look at that advertisement and it said it was for 27 spline axle shafts. As I recall the KJ uses 29 spline shafts so you may not be able to use this. Better call to be sure before you actually order them.

only mention i saw was about the pinion shaft count, not axles. Shouldn't matter to the ring & pinion what the shaft count is since the gears will be installed either on the stock carrier w/ stock spiders or into an aftermarket locker that fits to the axles spline count.

FWIW, i emailed them a message asking why they don't show the KJ 8.25 for fitment. curious if it is an issue w/ the ring & pinion fitting w/ the tone wheel carrier of the KJ?? can't imagine that is the case but I wonder.

Do you think if you sleeved the D30 then it might have held up better and not bent with 35s?
