Or you can look for a EB HP44 and start with a very strong front diff. |

Buddy of mine has a EB with a rusty frame BUT 9 inch rear / 44 front with 4.88s/ lockers , don't worry they are mine if they go anywhere at all, keep telling him he needs to go ahead and let me junk it out for him

I don't know if the JK D44 fronts are the hybred like the TJ was. Another post says they are new & stronger but I haven't found the specs for tthe JK. |

Thats from a 79 full size Bronco, need 77 and before really, mounting is made different if I remember correctly or you could go from a full size F150 from before 78 I think 78 is when they changed and the mounting for the radius arms is cast onto the front housing, been a few years since I last played with Fords 
plus on any you would need to fiqure in new bearings/gears/lockers/ maybe axles/etc to have it ready to install |

What he said: Ford changed their front suspension in '78 & the Bronco got bigger. It was based off of the F150, not its own line, and the axles were about 5" wider IIRC. Also, you have to cut off the front radius mounting crap and I have read were this weakens the axle as it is cast as 1 unit. Those newer D44 axles are easier to find and cheaper than the E.B. D44 fronts. |
