fwiw, (currently)
The most widely used/wheeled/DD setup on KJ's so far has been the 3 different SFA conversions using the Nth suspension parts. These 3 KJ's have been wheeled all over the West on some of the toughest trails and they all work very well.
These are all Jeeps that are driven many hundreds of miles too and from the trails up and down winding mountain roads, wheeled hard and then driven home regularly. Some have been or Are also daily driven around town, etc.

There are other setups out there now being used but None have the number of hours/miles in real life use that the Nth have. I know of No suspension related failures or issues on these vehicles.

so what is it about the simpler radius arm design that you don't like? Have you had a Jeep that used that setup? Help me understand.

Thanks OHV.

JJ, I love the Nth system, my favorite by far, but after talking to the Nth guys and pricing stuff out it will be $2600 plus shipping to get the stuff I'd need. I figure for that price I could get some other arms and have some cash left over for other things I need. Still undecided though.

Anyone seen Clayton's stuff?Looks as if a little adapting and you'd be there.I met Clayton in '02 at Big Dogs and he crawled under my KJ said it wouldn't be much work to do the job.He was drivibng a WJ on 38's.That thing was awesome! His stuff is beefy and well made.It would still be over $2K.Doing it right won't be cheap.

I figure if you're going to spend over 2K then why not go with the Nth ones. I think you can get the RE arms for like $15 or $1600.

I know Rock Krawler kits for the KJ are a joke but the rear setup on their LJs looks pretty nice.

Radius arm design will give you ubber amounts of flex with flexy coils. The RE arms from what I've heard have been great, just got to make sure you torque the jams nuts(same goes for all CA of the same design),they are 1/4" walled Chromemoly tubing so you'd be pretty hard pressed to bend them.

i had a cherokee with the rusty's long arms... the body side joint broke and i was stranded...i just figured with a true 4 link system...if that same one would of failed...i would of still made it off the trail...not to say your joints will fail...i'm sure the money u put in will give you alot better joints...if i had it my way i would want a triaguated 4 link to eliminate the track bar...but our kjs will not let us do it with 8 inches of lift... :D

That was your whole problem...............

Getting parts from Rusty's.

Rubicon Express control arms are really good.Nth/RE/Clayton are some of the best arms around.

It will take some work just as the TJ stuff doesn't bolt up.I like the fact Clayton uses the trans mount to attach some of the hardware. You'd have to see it in person to see what I see. This has been a plan of mine since I blew the front diff in 'Feb '02.Life just keeps getting in the way.

INC,
the arms came in about 800.00 dollars...that's with the simple hd hiems and backets...depending what you wanted...it could be anywhere from 800.00 to 1500.00

Thanks. Helps give me a better idea of what to do.

I emailed Clayton about their Long Arm kits for the ZJ, WJ, TJ, and LJ. They are supposed to be sending me a detailed pic of the LJ kit. They are around $1800 for the whole long arm setup.

As of now I am leaning towards the custom setup.
