I have the Clayton Long Arm setup on my Rubicon and I love it! So beefy and WELL engineered! They even have a lifetime warranty on the arms. If your doing a swap on a KJ, I highly recommend Claytonizing it.

Why does everyone use the TJ type set up?Just because it has front and rear?

Does the RE ones come with a rear truss for the upper rear arms?

Why would you want to truss the arms? That would defeat the purpose. If you mean a truss for the rear axle,I could not tell you.I just have there arms and not there whole TJ kit.

With the Rubicon Express lift you can get a tri link upgrade to the long arm kit which includes a truss for the rear axle where the upper arms attach. It converts the suspension to a triangulated 4 link setup which does not require a track bar.

That's why I like the Claytons XJ front and ZJ rear set up.It'll take some fabbing to get it done but in the end it's the way I want it.

That was what I was referring to.

Here is a pic of the Clayton LJ arms kit and a link to a photobucket site with all their lift kits and each of the kits components.

Here's a pic of the tri link upgrade from RE. The truss is a bolt on piece (It bolts into the holes for the diff cover.) though so they probably only have it to fit either the D35 or D44 which are the axles normally found on a TJ. If you use this piece, some modifications would need to be done to make it fit on the 8.25. I believe the frame ends of the arms bolt into their 3 piece belly skid that comes with all their long arm kits.

And the standard 5.5 long arm kit for an LJ.

Troy, if you aren't using this truss posted by chefdab, then how are you attaching the upper arms?

The truss is a option if you do not want a rear track bar.My RockJock60 has TJ mounts welded on and the rear long arms will attach that way and a custom trackbar will be made to make it a 5 link rear end instead of a triangulated 4 link, less work and less headaches and more street friendly since my KJ will be my DD.

Now if I wanted I can truss my RockJock60 since it already drilled and tapped for many different trusses already. But going to a rear triangulated 4 link on a unibody is putting alot of stress on the unibody. Now the KJ basically uses a triangulated 4 link already but the TJ/LJ long arms will not mount in those OEM locations so you have to make/fab mounts or modify there bellypan to fit on a KJ.I'm not going to make my SFA swap any more complicated then it needs to be,"KISS" applies to how we are doing it.

Well I figured I could easily alter the stock config and use a rear truss instead of the crappy ball joint and boomerang setup on there now, and fab up new quality mounting points for where the arms would mount to the frame rails.

Just thought I'd put this up here for some info for those considering doing it themselves... it's pretty basic but a good little thread.
