I found a set of Rubicon Express front discos for real cheap. Will they work for an SFA swap?

Only if you can come up w/ a front sway bar to use them with.

well if you can make the TJ bar work I guess it is cool. As I recall, we couldn't find a readily available bar (at teh time) that we could make work properly. I just opted for what I knew worked well and went w/ the Anti-Rock from Currie.

fwiw, I Had a rear TJ bar in the rear but didn't like that it contacted the control arms so I ditched it and run No rear bar now. I personally feel that it works fine and handles Ok for a big boat but I will probably end up w/ the Currie in teh rear too.... eventually.

If someone ever sells me their HD rear coils then I won't be running a rear sway.

Any reason why you'd avoid the TJ front sway?

shush, I'll get weights, etc. tomorrow.

not sure, I wasn't in the shop when they tried it but recall that it wouldn't work on Wallys either. I'd have to ask Quinn or hold one up there to see what the issue was. IIRC, there was some thought that a JK bar Might be able to work.....Oh and possibly even With the Rubicon versions electric disco wired in too. Not sure If maybe that was just a dream though.

I can't think of a reason why a stock one won't work if another TJ one, like the Currie will.

And I am just giving you a hard time about the springs.

tj bar isent wide enough...when connected and say your on the beach, if you hit a bump and the suspension loads...it will hit the fram rail...yes on the dicos though...find a sway bar that is the same width as a tj but dosen't come back into the the center after the bend...i hope that makes sense :?

That makes sense. Would it be remotely safe to heat it up and bend the spot that curves in to straighten it out? Could you swing and angle the sway bar down after you disconnect it or would it hit the axle in that case? I seem to remember my buddy doing that with his TJ.

The Currie setup we use Isn't the TJ version. It is a wider version. (IIRC)

I see.

I got 2nd Gen Rubicon Express Discos, like new with all hardware, and the TJ sway bar for $40 so I went for it.

I also don't think the swaybar would work due to the fact that the TJ bar is located above the frame but the KJ is below the frame. If I were you, I would look into getting a JK swaybar to use, possibly the electric disconnect version. I recall reading on another board that a few people found it easy to adapt to a YJ (whose swaybar is located under the frame also) so it might be better for the KJ along with being slightly wider.

Well I am going to use the RE discos, but I need another sway bar to mount them to. The RE ones are pretty nice. I tried using my torch to bend the TJ sway bar but it was a no go. I'll look into full size jeep ones maybe as well as YJ.
