Pretty sure most of the late model XJ's came w/ the Low Pinion D30. They started putting the LP's in the TJ's in 97 and they started trickling into the XJ's a couple years later. (IIRC) Better check it to make sure.

I'm pretty sure 2000 were low pinion 30s.

Yep, low pinion in 2000-01 XJ's. 97-99 are the years you want for the HPD30 with the stronger 297 UJoints.

The rear axle shafts will not fit in a KJ's 8.25(to short). There are about 5 different length's for the 8.25 axles and they all are in different vehicles and being a C-clip axle you need the correct axles to work.

so what your saying is that I could get a 97 xj front axle and be able to swap that out for my ifs? I know someone around here who is scrapping his and I might try and jump on it

there is a little more involved than just swapping out the D30a for the HP D30, you will need custom brackets new shocks, coils, the HP D30 is just the start for a SFA
