He'll learn after the 1st one and the price will jump way up,not that you'd get one done for anywhere close to $6000 anyways. He's only fixed one and not built one from the ground up yet.
do me a favor and after you do yours, then you might have somthing to say... he has literaly have done mine completly over so he knows everything that needs to be redone...not trying to sell this to you all...i just really want to see more ppl wheel the liberty and it's capabilities...oh to answer that question about the bump steer, no i don't have any at all...w/ or w/out the high steer, sence it was fixed...
I know what's involved and would never do one for $6000 with parts/labor included since I'd still be in the hole by alot of $$$$.Now $4000-$6000 in labor alone is more realistic.

well hey... not everyones a crook ya now  haha just playing around. The whole deal with this is its a way to get more out of your kj. James KJ is a great rig to wheel with, its capable, simple, and to get it done right the first time its cheap compaired to others out there. They work with what the liberty has and they make it into a beast of a vehicle. Just because james didnt have f/r arb lockd d44's put in with a rubicon transfer case and titanium long arms yadayadayada doesn't mean his rig isn't kick @$#%. darn its a good friggin deal don't knock on it just because you can't beat it. Accept it as an option for people to get more potential out of there KJ's, you go and throw your 401k into your jeep, I'll pay 6-7K and have a rig thats able to conjure 99% of the terrain out here and be happy.

I gotta agree w/ this. If a local shop can at least get rid of your D30A problems and get 33's under your rig for $6k then more power to them.

It creates a decent platform to build upon/upgrade that is for sure.
fwiw, I suspect I could do the same job in my garage for less duplicating this setup so it does give options for those capable of basic fab work and welding too.

I agree also but your going to have a ultra basic SFA for that price and he may bump the price once he figures the time involved in starting a SFA from scratch.Just saying.

Even an "ultra basic" SFA KJ will be awesome. Who cares if it doesn't have front and rear Dynatrac Pro Roc 60s. There will always be better and more built rigs out there. If you can get a wheelable SFA for 6K then I'd say DO IT! Mine should come in around that price and I wouldn't call any SFA KJ ultra basic.

All I can say is I'm glad to see the competition emerging! Can't wait to see what's available when mine's paid off in 2 years :D

i would pay these guys to do a SFA in mine tomorrow if i wasnt in school.. i can completely justify 6g's for a SFA. my dad has prob. 6g's in his rubicon express long arm lift and things to make it work for his rubicon.. and didnt have to buy an axle and re-gear and custom make stuff!

If this was viable 1yr ago I would have held off on the ASFIR Skids, OME, and Gen IV's... I've got more than $3K in those parts alone

So im looking at around 1-2 years on mine. fellas, If your wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, parents, whatever dont think a sfa kj is justified, let them drive one offroad... that WILL sway their minds

If your wife only told you to wait, she is a keeper...

My jeep, and now the bike are viewed only as competition... as for her riding/driving either, not likely...

They got more packed in that shop than I expected when I got there, it was elbow to elbow toolboxes and wicked rigs

I can say one thing though, other than that wagoneer (snicker)

there was absolutely nothin in there that I wouldn't get a stiffy to park in my driveway

I really liked the one that looked like it had been painted with bedliner

of course i think i had the whole 'buckwheat' surprise look on my face when james pulled his KJ in

haha i made the comment to james that it seemed a little out of place, cant really argue with how the owner got it though, a give away jeep is still a Jeep even if it does have 22's or something

i'd have trouble driving it as is, but ignoring that it was a very nice jeep, just not quite my style :P
