Actually you reminded me. I am keeping my 8.25 axle with the Powertrax and adding the 4.88s. Not sure yet if I want to spend the $$ on chromo shafts for it or not since I know guys running 35s with theirs with no problems. And yeah, it is a long term budget build. I figure if I am realistic about it then 2011 should be a good goal. Plus with 2 new twins I figure better not overextend all at once right away. I am having a hard enough time spending the cash now because the wife reminds me she wants a new car every time I mention my jeep.

Yeah, I saw your post. I guess I'll either grind it to fit or get an Aussie for the rear. The guy doing my install will know which way to go better than I will anyway.

Make sure the wheels you are going to run will fit ok over the WJ calipers, etc. before going through mounting them up.

Before I picked up the axle, I talked with the guy about the WJ setup and his wheels in comparison to my wheels. He is running 15x8 with 4.5 BS and I am running 15x8 with 3.75 BS. I should be fine fitting over the Akebono calipers.

I am tempted to slap them on to see what they look like, but I'd have to dismount the 31s, and mount the 33s, then do it again in reverse. :?

Are those the single piston calipers?

Here is a pic of the stock vs the upgrade. They are dual piston.
Kinda hard to tell the difference from the pic. :D

Found my rear shocks.

Edelbrock 63914 Xtreme Travel Medium Valving. I believe the Edelbrock shocks are the same as the Rubicon Express Xtreme travel shocks. RE sells them under their name. The shocks have 12.190" travel, and measure 31.260" extended and 19.070 collapsed so they are darn close to the measurements of the Bilsteins I was looking at. Regularly $125.95 each, on sale for 35.95 with free shipping. I am still going to finalize the order tomorrow to check and see if the remote res ones (#63903) are included in the sale, if not then the 63914s will work for sure. 8)

The Remote Res (63903) shocks were not included in the sale so I bought 2 63914s for $75.90 with 2 day UPS shipping included.

Shocks came in today. They are really nice. Does anyone know if it is a bad idea to take the dust boot off? I've never been a fan of the look of them, but I know they aren't there for no reason. Will it hurt my shock performance and life in the long run if I take them off when I install them?

no it will not...if just watch for rust(it will do that either way) and clean it off you'll be fine

concur. I have seen the boots hold slimy crap on the inside up against the shock shaft from water crossings, etc. and end up causing more problems than they prevent. Plus the boots keep you from seeing what is going on in there.

When you fit the 35's are you gonna do something with that plastic crap? Any plans there? You'll need the flex room :D:D

Are you talking about the fenders? If so I won't have any issues because when I designed the rear bumper I had my guy cut back the unibody behind the flares about 2" which widened the rear fender well quite a bit and I will bumpstop accordingly so I don't tear them off. As for the front, I think the coil overs should be adjustable enough to control up travel and avoid ripping them off as well.

I will be picking up my new 35x12.5x15 MT/R Kevlar tires tomorrow. $846 OTD.
