A friend of mine from Toyota and I are working on a buggy for the KOH next year around some prototype Portal Axles. They're going to use some big ole 14 Bolt Center sections milled from Aluminum and the Portal Hubs... should be Nuke Proof... assuming we can build them.

I'll let you know how they turn out...

I guess they have them for the Dana 60 and working on the Dana 44. I'm watching this for future mods.

The only downfall of portals is you need to run very large rims to clear them.I guess the other is with the 2 gear portals you need to redo the powertrain due to the wheel ends will be spinning in reverse when in "D".

A friend and I are talking about using a set of Spider 9's and Hummer portal outers to make a set of axles for my LWB Samurai. We'd use. 2.73 ring and pinions to keep the final drive (around 5.45) reasonable for my diesel motor.
