So i found a couple of axles and wondering which ones i should go with. thanks. For the libby SFA

Keep looking. None of those are worth anything, atleast not for what you have planned, and the Dana 60's are too much. I got mine for $150 complete and already sandblasted.

XJ 27 spline axles are a downgrade from your already 29 spline 8.25. XJ D44's really aren't worth the extra money over the 8.25 you have now, except you can run 4:88 gears instead of 4:56 gears, and I wouldn't run 4:88 gears in the front D30 anyways, so a waste of money there. Waggy axles more work then they are worth. Scouts, same story.

Either find a 97-99 XJ HPD30, or a 77 or older Ford HP44/9" combo. Stay way from 78-79 HP44's as they have cast radius arm wedges that cannot be cut off and are right in the way of putting your own bracketry on.

If you are patient and keep looking, the right deal will come along. I have a complete front F250 HP44 and complete rear D60, and (4) H2 aluminum rims with 35" BFG AT's with tread still on them, with only $600 invested.

The HPD30 in the link above would be a great deal, skip the rest, don't touch the rear aluminum 44.

If you can save up and wait for a prebuilt axle, you can save a lot of money, just keep checking the CO4x4 board. If you are serious about starting the parts pile, shoot me a pm or email or post on here and I can let you know if it is worth considering. I highly recommend if you aren't sure, please ask first, because there are a lot of axles out there they may seem like they are the right ones, but can be from from it, and it could all just be a matter of being one wrong year. Example: 78-79 front HP44's. Everything is right, except they have cast radius arm wedges, not welded. Won't work for an SFA on a KJ. Well, it could, but you would need to run stock Ford radius arms and some custom welding and modification. Not my first choice, but it could be done. Seen it done on XJ's quite a bit, and if you know how to do it, may actually save you a good chunk of money, just a little more sweat and blood to sacrifice.

The front D60 here will not work since it is a passenger side drop and you need a drivers side drop.

Quick clarification, 96.5-99 are the only HP30 front axles that are desirable. 2000-01 had low pinion axles, and pre 96.5 had HP30's with the weaker 260 UJoints.

Yeah, I mentioned that in a PM, that if a good deal comes along on an HP30 pre96 with gears and locker already, then jump on it and swap the shafts/ujoints, which are fairly cheap relatively speaking.
