From what i have heard is that Yukon makes the only 8.25 gearing that does not grind, and make any noise at all. they have perfected the 8.25 ring and pinion gear set. Good way to go. Already tested this out in my buddies xj, that had g2's, presicion, and a few others in it, and the yukon gearing slipped right in no issuses and no noises on the road.

I put a set of 7.65" Yukons 4.10's in my old Astro, slid right in, perfect settings on 1st shot, never any noise, wore great. I would buy them again for another vehicle.

If you are going to run 4.88s there is only one company that makes them and it isn't Yukon. Google 4.88 gears for the Chrysler 8.25. If you are going 4.56s then you have better options.

you are correct. for the 8.25 they don't go up to 4.88's. so i'll be doing 4.56's in the liberty then. With those matched with the deisel motor it wel have plenty of power

I was lucky and only had to get the rear gears. The 4.88s came with my Dana 30 so I only needed to get them for my Chr. 825. I would think the 4.56 would work well with a diesel.
