Ok this is for Marty,JJ,Inc,OHV,Troy.

I need to get the measurements for the custom work that has to be done. Like the frame stiffeners, the front crossmember, coilover tabs, and whatever else was custom made. If you can please send some photos of the stuff close up and from different angles with measurements. thanks a lot. Need to start getting the stuff together so i can start making the custom brackets and what not. Hard to do from pic's alone. If you have anything on cad let me know. Thanks guys a lot.

Also any other help would be helpful (Marty) ha ha. jk. thanks guys

I don't have any measurements to be honest. Nothing on CAD, no more pics yet either. The guy's shop, the one doing my swap, is a 45 minute drive form my house so I get what he provides for the most part.

frame stiffeners: they go from the rear stock control arm mounts forward to where the front of the unibody curves up in the engine bay. Mine goes around and up the sides of the unibody frame and are welded in. They go under the t-case crossmember as well. They are custom fitted around my welded in supports for my rock rails, which no one else has, so for you, they wouldn't work right anyway. Just measure around your unibody frame of where you want the thing to be stiffened.

the front crossmember: are you referring to the engine mounts? If so, measure them when you take them out to replace them or to customize the stock ones like I did. You don't really need measurements if you use the stock ones like I did though, since they bolt right back in place.

the coilover tabs: just plain old shock tabs that you can buy online from a number of sources. Most of my brackets aren't really custom, they were bought online and made to fit into the jeep. It is how they are mounted to the jeep that make them custom. So depending on your coilovers, your long arms, and anything else you buy for this project, your measurements will need to be exact to your specs, not from someone else's.

I wouldn't look to Marty for much help because he plans on selling his kit for a living, to make money to provide for his family. So for him to spill all the beans, give you all his measurements, would be like giving money away almost. He wants you to buy his kit when he releases it, not use his kit info to work for yours for free. I can't blame him. If I was selling jeep parts, I wouldn't give out my build info. I'd display Troy's and Ted's as a way to sell my goods.

The stuff that is custom done, is just that, custom. Unless you do your kit exactly the same way that OHV, JJ or I did ours, then our measurements won't really work for you. Driveline measurements and brake lines might work, but custom work is custom, not cookie cutter. I found that out from talking to JJ and Ohv many many times over. Their builds are different so they didn't work for me.

When I get my jeep, I'll be glad to give you specific measurements of specific parts, but the stuff you asked for in this thread can be done by going out to the jeep with a tape measure. Hope all that made sense.

ditto above.

w/out removing parts, i couldn't give you exact measurements and no way am I taking my Jeep apart....least not until the next upgrade build occurs in the future. my arms, frame mounts and axle bracketry are Nth parts so unless you are using Nth/AEV parts, it won't be the same as yours. I can get you pics and ballpark figures on some stuff that would be similar like front coil over upper mount and basic info on the bracketry at the axle but depending on what other parts you are using, it is gonna be tough.

Ok thanks guys. The shop i was talking to about doing it, said that with some measurements from the guys that have already done it, like the frame stiffeners, and the new cross members would help a bit. But, i understand the whole not wanting to taking everything apart, trust me haha. Its all good with marty to, cause i know this is his way of supporting his family and his business with income. Thanks for the help guys.

Can i still get pictures detailed or close up ones of all the frame stiffeners and the cross member with engine mounts. Just for references though. and for basic design, as bolt places and what not. thanks a lot

I'll be picking my jeep up, on a trailer, this Friday or Saturday. I'll need the SYE, the front and rear drive shafts, and the exhaust all done. Then the jeep be "finished" and I can snap a bunch of pics for ya.

Can't wait to see it, I'm looking forward to seeing those new MT/R's under there. I'm torn what to get for my KJ. I really dig the Toyos Troy is running, but I love the MT/R's in the rocks just as well, especially out here in CO. Guess I'll just have to see what's available for the size I will be running.

Where do you live again? I keep thinking Vegas. We definately need to get an SFA Safari going for next year perhaps in Moab. :D

I am 6.5-7.5 hours north of Vegas, in Reno. The new MT/Rs are supposed to be all the rage, so I'll let you know how they perform over the old style MT/Rs, and the Trxus I had before. I heard rumors of a Rubicon run in 2010...

And JeepBumm68, you know you are welcome to ask questions and I will help when I can, but Inc is right in many instances, one about the business end of it, but the biggest thing is what is going to work with your build that may not match anything that has already been done. Too many "custom" jobs to be able to say what will work. I probably have atleast 40 hours of just "hmmm" time under the KJ thinking, measuring, drawing, planning, thinking, drawing, mock up, test fit, redo, test fit, drink a beer to cool the smoke rolling out the ears, etc. I don't do anything in CAD, all old school drafting, but all of my SFA drawings/plans are on several notebooks and sketch pad right now, and if anyone else were to look at them right now, they wouldn't know the difference between their stupid and a hole in the ground. I'm surprised even I can read them sometimes.

My best advise, get a big square, a little square, a yard stick, tape measure, protractor/mechanical angle finder, magnetic angle finder, a big sketch pad, and a box of pencils. Oh, and you can get sheets of that white poster board at Office Max/Depot for about $15 that is 3/16" thick and is great for mock ups. Just draw up your part, cut with a razor blade, anywhere there is a bend, only cut halfway through, make the fold/bend, and anywhere you need something welded, use a hot glue gun. I have saved a lot of time and money doing that instead of initial mockups being made of steel.

Hope that helps.

Ok thanks a lot marty. I will be asking a lot of questions too when the time comes. We are tearing it down starting next weekend. The only reason for pictures of measurements was to get a rough estimate of what everyone else is doing, and to give me a good starting point. I do know that every custom work is just that custom to the vehicle on hand. Thanks a for the help. Can't wait to see pic's inc, and marty i'll be shooting you question or maybe stopping by if i am done that way.
