Why would you say that? I guess i really havnt looked into it cuz I had em so I didnt really worry bout wich ones but Im interested. I like the ones on my Ram, little excessive for a 10000# gvwr for the Libby vs the 33k they were built for but Iv hit anything from steel posts to deer and rocks with mine and no problems, running 35s with 4:10 no prob, pushing 1200#-ft no prob. Good size breaks, strong internals, easy to modify..... but thats all my opinion without research though..

Don't be discouraged, there's always going to be some nay sayers here, those that wont accept an idea because its not there's. Or its not whats commonly accepted as correct. :goink: Do what you want to do, take the advice here and form your own Idea on how you want your build to go.

Do it! build it, break it, build it stronger, then break it again!

Little to no aftermarket support is the big reason, and also very bulky/heavy for there strength. There are much better full width "ton" axles out there that are better suited.

work with what you have, or sell them for a 44/60 combo! Craigslist can be your friend.

One recommendation im going to make, look into unibody braces for underneath. Check out what the XJ guys do, especially if your going leafs. The unibody on a KJ is strong but some 1/8 - 3/16" supports will make it a hell of a lot stronger. Overkill never hurt anyone! Other than that go at it with fury, take lots of pics and lots of notes, and share!

My Frame Is Plated with welded on 1/4" Stiffeners from the Firewall to the rear bumper. Here's a picture of the main frame piece complete with Ballistic Fab. Skulls.

If you don't plate it you'd be sorry you didn't really fast.

I honestly never weighed them, The simple answer is a lot. Also keep in mind that's only the main chassis section, It goes right to the rear bumper The Liberty's frame is an odd size as well so buying C channel isn't really an option buying Angle and cutting it down then adding Plate welded on for the inside is how we did it. The rear is complicated go look at yours if you don't believe me lol

I plan on frame reinforcments and cross member reinforcements for torque bars. I'm thinking it'll end up about 6-8" over stock so my garage is out as I only have 2" clearance now :( talked to my bud and he said ~30 hrs @ 100$/hr but that means Iv got experience backing me up and a extra hand (plus im sure there welds are prettier :frankie: ). just not excited about the extra 3K :dizzy:

Yeah mine is being built by a Shop, I don't have the time, tools, patietance,or expertice to do something that takes this much custom work. It's worth it to have a reputable shop involved in your build even if just to keep you going down the right path.

I was wondering if anyone knows if I can adapt the tone wheel and abs sensors to work with the modern axles? Im thinking they might be cross compatible at some level as there all Crysler axles. Im gonna check with Dakota Digital when im ready.

Your going to loose ABS unless you keep the rear 8.25 and use a JK front axle(or TJ/XJ front D30 with ABS).If you had a '06 you could have kept it using JK axles(or JK replacement axles).

Yep, Dakota Digital will not sell you any of their speedo modules if you have ABS... First question I was asked when I called to trouble shoot my POS... and the Instruction sheet says specifically in bold "Not for use with any ABS system"
