Well the AAMs are out, buddy needs parts after offroad "incident" . But in return he hooked me up with a guy who has a 77 K3500 rolling chassis complete with Muncie 265, NP205, and DANA 60/70 combo! All for 600$ that ill prob. make up with selling the trans and TC combo
The shops gonna tear into the axles next week and the build starts the 6th! Ill start another topic with pics

Sadly you can not use the front axle as it's a passenger side drop axle and you need a drivers side drop front axle.

Yep im retarded :banghead: That idea lasted a whole hour b4 I remembered what Troy said bout pass. side drop. Im kinda pissedthat it took me an hour to remember since I ran into the opposite issue swaping my lil bros transfer case in his 88 CUCV not more than six months ago! Still a lil heated there..... Any who got a Ferd 88 60/60 combo I pick up tomorow for another 1250$ :dizzy: oww. The rear has a disc conversion and factory LSD on 4:10s and front has manual lock hubs and unknown ratio. Only bad part.is my Jeep will be 1/10th Ford  .

It was actually a 44 the guys an Idiot. Oh well, I bought it anyways rears a 60 out of a 89 and fronts a HP 44 out of a 79 F250 prob. gonna do 4:56 on both got some 35/12.5/16.5 with poopy tread to tie me over till I can afford to get 17s and new tires. Im getting 8 lug dodge rims so the Jeep and Ram are cross compatible so now Ill have two spares floating around just in-case. The teardown started today but they changed my mind about the reinforcements in favor of a supplemental tube chassis. So far Iv spent 250$ on the 60, 150$ on the 44, and 150$ on wheels and tires for a total of 550$ of contributed parts were looking at a total build cost of ~5050$. the projected lift height over stock is 7.5" so 6" over where it sits now.

sounds nice!

I did not think the f250 had D44 in 79, IIRC, 77 was last year. Is it low pinion?

Got any pics yet of the progress?

4:56 aren't going to be enough for 35's on the libby, 5:13's minimum. And if that is the 3/4T HP44 with leaf spring mounts and 8 lug outers, thats what I was going to use if/when I ever do my own SFA KJ. I had a set HP44/60 from a 79 F250, but got rid of them since in the way and no libby to put under yet.

4.56's On are liberty and the darn thing moves lol. or was it 4.88's can't remember. You will be fine with the 4.56's or 4.88's with the CRD. It has plenty of low end torque.

I stand corrected, f250 still had d44 in 79, 78 and 79 had HP, not the low pinion like my 76 had.

oops, forgot was a crd. Don't know then, still think 5:13's preferred, but 4:56 ok, 4:88's better. We are in the mountains too so those gasers are better with the lower gears. The crd's get around the mountains much better and hardly ever in passing gear up the hills like gassers

Ya of course I don't know yet on the liberty well do with the 4.56's. we are gonna see.

Also,

This thread is now a waste of time. His jeep got badly damaged at the shop that was going to do they work. So they bought his KJ from him and bought him 2010 JK unlimited rubicon.

Yep, Libbys gone to auction. Lift fork ( center lift) sliped off the unibody and went through the floor, good proof that the devils in the details. Things got rushed a little cuz it was taking way to long and a step was skipped and cost us the vehicle.

Thanks for everyones help and inspiration (and driving critcizim) without it I would have traded it in long ago and never have tried. Maby someday ill try again :juggle:

Ill post up the Rubi build in the apropriate section when I get into it, Im gonna wait till the stock tires start to wear.

Not for the build the cad guy needed measurements that the shop was supposed to have 2 days earlier. When im paying a cad guy 350$ an hour to build a tube chassis and he cant do it right due to the shop youd put a little fire under em too.
