Is this still just a pipe dream? The topic has pretty much died off!

This Topic is just gettting started. :D
A Kit is real close to happening this year. There will be some serious testing done in Moab this year and I have a good feeling that a "kit" will follow soon after.

Stay tuned!

So are we looking at sometime before or during the summer?

I do not know for sure but would guess After Summer, Later this year. It really depends on how it all tests out and wether or not it needs more tweaking. I guarantee it Will Not be released before it is darn near Perfect or better.

I'd rather hear that it's gonna be done *right* before it's released instead of just being done and released.

So I was just wondering what the real advantages to having a SFA are. Is it just that you dont have to worry about CV angles to the wheels? Sorry if this sounds amature.

CV Angles, gearing for bigger tires, ditching that lovely aluminum front diff, locker choices, ground clearance choices, flex, etc, etc, etc.

Not to mention strength and power, although I guess that would fit in with better gear ratios. 8)

when I spoke with Rock Krawler about their SFA kit, the answer I got was mid to late summer. I doubt I will go that route, I am very curious to see ARBSeth comes up with in the future.

Me too...besides, I'm sure RK will find some way to crap things up again for the KJ sfa kit they are "planning." They just kind of shrugged off all the bad press and complaints they got from the 7up and decided to move on I guess instead of making it better. Who knows...

The only answer I have right now is YES it will be done this year and i feel very strong that the guys going to Moab will get to see the results... That is all I can say right now. Later...Clint

i thought I remembered clint and wally doing something along those lines but decided not to say anything since they are being fairly tight lipped about it...

as for RK-a lot of their other kits are decent. I have a buddy with an XJ that has their 4.5" kit and he likes it...he's had it for about a year with some decent wheeling...

Clint-is the camo edition getting the SFA or are you the guinea pig? Or am I asking too many questions again? Will you give us a hint as to what axle you guys are using? I would put money on a Dana 44 from a wagoneer (nearly the same width) and fairly common...

I will take a stab at guessing about what it will cost for the basic kit parts. I imagine it will run around the same price as a current long arm kit for a TJ or ZJ, So around the $2500-3000 range. Then figure you will need to supply a front diff and add a slip yoke eliminator to the transfer case, and then custom Drive shafts. Also figure beefing up whatever front diff you use w/ alloy axles and locker. Not going to be cheap, but will surely be awesome when done. I'm figuring on having about $5k saved up before even attempting the swap.
It just never ends, Just Empty Every Pocket!!
