So, now that the Jeep is sitting on the Fw's and has a partial high steer on, we still run into problems with the steering. It well do fine and work but its just not right. The CRD because of the intercooler and radiator it makes it impossible to put the steering box up high like the Gasser. So searching to find some that are 5'' shorter. |

Hey Tjkj, actually ended up not using the JK cause the intercooler/radiator still interfere, with the mounting location of the steering box. Plus we would have to cut out and plate the frame where the box needs to sit, which means pulling out a ton of crap to get to it. I can get pic's, but the box is still in the same location as it was when it was on the TJ axles. So the build thread well have the location of the box in there. Just cant move it up without either cutting into the frame or getting different size intercooler/radiator |

I had same problems with my steering box. Had to change it about four times. Ended up building the engine cradle from 3x3 x1/4" L iron for a flat area to mount the box, from there built in braces for coil buckets, and trac bar. The bottom hose coolant hose was rerouted up on top, with a bleeder valve and a window sight to make sure its solid coolant. Good luck with it. |
