Yes, definitely reinforcing the rails and upper and lower control arm pockets. Got some sheet 1/8" plate. I have spent most of the day staring at my front suspension trying to figure out how to stuff 10 lbs of brown stinkies in a 5 lb bag. :juggle: We have exchanged our Dodge steering box for a Ford unit so I can put the box closer to the firewall.

Why would you feed the 3.7 nitrous? I mean the only things I see in its future is burnt up rings and maybe a rod or 2 out of place. And why just do a Hemi conversion I thought this was a beater rig not a show truck. Slide that 440 in there with a six pack a smiple straigt forward motor that you can repair on the trail if needed. Put a manual behind it and keep the transfer case and call it done. Or since you do work for a dodge dealer umm CUMMINS Compound turbo or Twin compounds if you really want to get stupid D80s front and rear and auto or manual. And if you must have it feed one of those beast nitrous then you would have something no one has ever seen or built before.

This is gonna be a show truck and a beater...we own a body shop now too. Why not put nitrous on it? I don't think I understand your point.....or was there one? Who would want to contend with a carb and a clutch off road, much less three carbs! As you pointed out we are a Dodge dealership, I can fix anything on the trail. If it spits out parts we will clean up the mess, bag the parts and build another engine....on the trail!!! Whatever, I am just having fun with this. That's what this is all about....fun! I guess for some people entertainment means trying to knock someone else down. Keep watching though because I am going to try real hard to include every option that some of you think is dumb :goink:

If that's the case.... then a hemi swap is "dumb." Is that a definite on the list now? :jester:

I like the approach to the vehicle just not the approach to the motor. I mean someone would be more then happy to have that 3.7L but feed nitrous it will be at best a coffee table. And again if you want a show truck go ridiculous why I suggested a 440 or Cummins and if you don't want to deal with carbs then swap to injection. My point I am trying to make is you know what will happen to the 3.7 after a few hits of nitrous so why not rip it out fit something radical in the first place and be done with it. But if you are going to run nitrous through the 3.7 I want a video please.

We'll certainly have some vids. I enjoy the "why would you do that" banter. I don't take anything personal and I hope noone else does. I'm having a tough time getting someone to come off of a Hemi right now so I am just leaving room for one. We'll flog the little 3.7 and keep our fingers crossed. I think that once the owners see the finished product they'll be a little more open to the Hemi idea. Working like nuts on it now so more pics tonight.

Nothing personal taken here just thought if you were going to do it the first time do it as big as you can. Still think i would rather have a 12 valve with a compound turbo over the hemi. The wieght would be the only killer there but you would have tons of torque on demand but alittle more turning on that cummins would even it out . My buddy has a TJL with a 24 valve in it and everytime he gets on it hard the front suspension lifts almost to its max and the rear squats. So, I completely understand the why the he!! did you do that factor.

This has been a bunch of fun so far but more importantly a bunch of lessons. Don't guess how much your vehicle weighs when ordering springs!!! WEIGH IT! Otherwise when you sit it on the floor at 1 a.m. Saturday morning it stops going down 5" before it gets to ride height :( . We will be exchanging our springs for some with much lower rates. We did cycle the suspension without the springs. Even with our sorta short rear arms and my accidental triangulation of the front supension doing battle with the track bar it will use nearly all of the 16" travel shocks. It looks like a dang monster truck right now though
