Good bumper combination. I like RL rear bumper, form fitting and added clearance nice stuff right there.

I'm not trying to be a downer, but I've been wondering for quite awhile now...why did Wally go with only 33s? It still looks bad@$$, but what's the reasoning? So far everyone else that's done a SFA-swap seems to have gone with 35s. Is the difference too small for the extra $ for the 35s?

Not answering for Wally but I was going to only go w/ 33's so there would still be some challenge in wheeling. I am not looking for the hardest trails in the world so I wanted to still be challenged on the trails I knew I would be doing. I also wanted 33's for less cost, easier on the drivetrain, possibly better fuel mileage, etc. I still only run 33's on my XJ andplan on continuing to do so for the same reasons.

Another possible reason for Wally is he is still running the 8.25 rear which can only be geared to 4.56 and running 35's is just not as good on 4.56's as 33's are.

JJ pretty much nailed it....I wanted to keep the corp 8 1/4 so you can only go as high as 456 there, the price for 35" tires are alot more, and one big factor is the KJ is pretty darn top heavy and I wanted to keep my center of gravity in a manageble position, if you noticed I don't have a rack anymore, I wanted to keep the weight down off the top, also I don't trailer my rig anywhere so I have to be able to drive it to where ever I'm wheeling, and right now I'm only gettin about 13 mph....who knows what 35s would have done...also the wheel wells on a KJ don't work to well with 35s unless you lift the thing to the sky...with alot of flex and 35s..they just won't stuff into the wheel wells, the 33s work perfect...right now its up at All Js gettin a Vaneco Brake kit for the front and a Warn Locking Hub conversion kit,,and I thought I was done!...yeah right!

Thanks for the answers, I knew there were rational reasons behind that choice. It looks amazing either way, Wally!

If it where me... I'd dump the 8.25 and swap to a TJ D44... same width housing with more ratios, more splines stock w/ 33 and 35 spline upgraded shafts available, bolt in vs C clip and I'm told by a little bird doing a little project for me that it goes under the rig with a long arm quite a bit easier...

Not that we're building one or anything...

But if we where.... that's how I'm doing it, er would do it ;)

And I forgot to mention to anyone that might care...

But I hear OME 80 Series Cruiser 200KG Constant Med lift rears happen to be just the right height (18") and rate (250 lbs) for a KJ with a kick arse rear tire carrier on it running a 34" tire.... and they just so happen to fit right into the existing buckets?

Not that I looked it all up and did the numbers with some serious design engineers or anything, or heard someone fit them on last night or anything like that either... but you know... if you're interested.

Not that we know anything about a cactus green KJ with a TJD44 in the back, HPD30 with Yukon shafts, ARB's, Bilstien Shocks, Nth Long Arms, 305/75/17 tires, and a detroit locker sticker on the back;)

Just kidding about the Detroit Locker sticker :) I think we are getting good at these SFA KJ's, this one is sweet. I'll have pictures posted up as soon as Seth gets to see in person.

Dang, I forgot about a rumor about the first TeraLow 4.0 being installed in a KJ, and a Tera 2 lo kit as well. I have no idea where we heard that rumor.

No pictures until it gets shot for the Magazines, guys. Sorry...
So you'll just have to come to TDS or Moab and see what a real KJ can do in person. I'll also be showing the rig at Off Road Expo in SLC the weekend before Moab. No Easter Jeep for me though, wife is due with our son in a couple weeks...

See you on the trail!
