OK its that time of year ,wait its always that time of year
any way trail rides ,when, for now I am guessing 2/16 or 2/17 but that may change
where same place ,ST. Francisville LA
cost about the same ,10 bucks a jeep
why same reason ,because its fun

other wise I can probably gain access to the public park at almost any time after February
but I will need to know how many and when at least a few weeks out

The TJ is going in for rerepair/remodification this weekend and it may take until February to get it back

OR
I will drive up to or with in 5 hours 1 way of New Orleans as per Google maps
as 5 hours for them is 6 for my TJ let me know

OR
wait until late into 2008 when we get a new DD for the wife and I take the KJ as my DD
then I will drive up to 12 hours of N.O. and bring/tow the TJ or drive the KJ

I will make this happen for us 1 day
some way
some how

I will kinda get one when I drop off the TJ on Saturday
the place that is helping me out with my "locker situation" has a good rock pile out front and a nice
,33's on a TJ required, dirt hill out back
the plan is to "finish the job" on the locker
best thing is that if I should snap a shaft in the 44 they have Alloys on the shelf for it
any thing can happen when you get 1 wheel spinning like crazy

well here are some dates
1-20 = LA/MS state line @ I-55 be there for 9:00 am (better)
1-26 = Hammond LA off of I-55 be there for 9:00 am (good)
2-17 = St. Francisville LA hwy 61 @ Thompson creek be there for 8:30 am (best don't miss this one)

as with any rides I post there are some costs but less than any public park
let me know if one looks good

Guys I hope to see ya'll come out to the ride on 2/17
the reason I say this is simple
I was at an FJ meet and greet doing the whole Expo promoting thing but I extended them the invite to the rides
and if just 1/2 of the 16 FJ's who said they were going to ride show then that would be 4 times as many KJ's that have ever showed

Now I know that some of ya'll will claim the "it's to far to drive bit"
well I can now call BS as there were at least 2 that drove 3+ hours for just a M&G
there dedication to off road and the want to be involved is crazy compared to what I have seen in the KJ group

Guys dont let the Jeep name down
dont let the KJ down
I am now wishing I had drove the wifes KJ out just so I could show them that lifted KJ do exist
because most of them doubted that they even did "I have never seen that before"
I am just thankful that the guy who picked me up pulled into the drive way and saw that our KJ was noticeably bigger than his FJ and also saw the "proof" that we wheeled it

That being said who is coming to ride?

you know it is stuff like this that makes me laugh
I drive from here to Telico just to wheel ,same or further, nothing but a "club ride"
Yet most guys will not take a drive for an event? why? it will be fun and others ,like 300+ other, rigs
I also make that drive in a TJ getting worse milage and a much worse ride

The idea is not for the free stuff but to have fun with other off roaders
this is also the attitude that gives the KJ a "bad name"

Like I said before we had an FJ owner drive 3+ hours 1 way for a meet and greet not even a trail ride
yet KJ owners will not even drive for a 2 day event filled with trails and demos
it is set up like a Jeep Jamboree but with more trails and hands on stuff so its better

jees what a bunch of party poopers

hey now its not that i wouldnt like to make this ride or that i even care that much about the free stuff. it was a joke lighten up please(notice the smiles). why i dont think i can make it is money. i am a young college student with a new born baby so money is a little tight sorry i cant blow 100bucks or more in gas to come. i wish i could but i think its kind rude that u are saying im givving KJs a bad name when u dont know the reasons i cant make an 11hr drive. i really would if i could afford it trust me i would LOVE to come. heck if i have the money for the gas i will. sorry for any confusion. also next time u come up to Telico let me know i think i could swing the gas money for that.

no I think you got me wrong
I have been trying to get guys out for years
and NOT 1 KJ besides the locals has made a "special trip"
that is the reason for the free batt. to get guys who would not other wise show

Trust me when I tell you I am way deep in the off road world in my part of the world and the KJ is simply the laughing stock
not because it can not but because the owners do not
The locals have seen my wife drive hers on these trails they know it can
but they also know that I invite ya'll to almost EVERY ride and ya'll never show

I tell them the excuses and they also laugh at them
most of them are collage students ,I have a 7 month old baby and I am one of the guys who puts on the Expo and manage to find the money and time
I guess ,like I tell them, it all comes down to dedication and there is just not as much dedication among KJ people as there is among the rest of the Off Road world
sure some are very dedicated but most are scared to leave their "comfort zone"
but that is the reason for the Expo ,to get the "new blood" out on the trails that will push a stock rig to it's limit if they want or they can watch others

I am just a guy who says if you have a 4wd Jeep and an invite to an event like this why not go?
I do it all the time Gilmer, Hot springs ,Morris Mt, Gray Rock, Telico, if some one invites me to an event and I am not working I go
now Telico is a push and maybe a once a year but heck all of the "long drive" parks are once a year
now close to home ~4 hours once a month if I can
I just think every Jeep owner should be the same

and i am. see u have got me all wrong. where i live i am the only KJ and i wheel my rig just as hard if not harder than most. i go to every local club meeting and also go out EVERY weekend with my cousin who drives a Land Rover. i am also taking a 4+ ride to wheel with the LOST mid west guys next weekend and another 4+ ride later that month. its not that im not willing to come to this event man its that i dont have the cash. heck im still trying to build my rig up and next year i plan to go to MOAB and maybe even ur event if i have enough time to save up the cash. im sorry u think my lack of money gives KJs a bad name but dont blame me that noone else shows up to ur event. where u live KJs my be the laughing stock but where i live my KJ is alway the talk after a ride sine i can and will do more stuff that most wont even try. heck its not a pissing contest it about being in the outdoors and enjoying good company, but dont judge me because im tight on cash right now. heck when i get threw school i have more money to do things like this. As for right now though a 4 hr trip is pushing it for me. not because im "not willing" but becasue i dont have the money. my family comes before my Jeep or 4 wheeling trips and im not going to not have money to pay my bills or make sure my son has what he needs to come wheel with peole that laugh at KJs sorry. so i hope u have a good turn out but i wont be there u turned me off to even trying to make it.

oh and i think its messed up u lable people because of what they drive. this is what gives 4 wheeling a bad name. not people that dont drive for hrs when they dont have the money to make it to a 4 wheeling even. it really shouldnt matter what u drive if u ask me. heck my local club has every type of rig u could ever take on the trail from FJs to Land Rovers to TJs to Mercedes G wagons and we all get along. sorry where u live its different. that really must suck to be judged like that.

also i think it very nice that u are givving away a door prize to come to ur event so maybe there will be more KJ show up and everyone might stop laughing at them there.
