ok, guys I know there is never very much activity in this region of the forum, and not much for trail rides either.

I know Jason is on here all the time posting trail rides, and I know i have never taken part in one, which i regret letting him down, but lets try to get a date to ride Eglin AFB sometime in October or November would be good since it would be the best weather.

Lets try to get as many KJ's and whatever else to go and ride. This place is huge and has some easy places and some tough ones. Everyone is welcome.

Scott I know I can count you in, hopefully.

I will try my best.
(Like everyone else) I have a lot going on but I would love to join you, and hopefully Bub (and maybe Jason???) and whoever else.

I know I can't go until after Oct 6th, but don't schedule around me as I have had to cancel several rides (4x4 and dual sport motorcycle) over the last few months due to schedule and family issues.

I hope to have some new tires within a month or so also. I am pretty sure I can get my FJ Cruiser buddy to come along also... if non KJ's are allowed?

Anyway, great idea Taylor. Set a date and lets make it happen.
Also, for those that are not familiar with the place and might be driving from out of town, there is free camping once you buy a $10 pass (good for a year).

Scott

I know Bub has been wanting to get together a group ride at Eglin for a while so I am sure if it is a date he can make, he will be there.

So, hopefully, at the very least it will be the three of us and a few of our (outside the LOST forum) friends.

Hopefully we can get some more forum folks out. Might want to post on the Florida region list also....

You can definately count me in.OK I'm going to go ahead and throw a date out there.
Weekend of November 8th&9th.The weekend after Holloween weekend. The pass doesn't include
camping(that is a seperate pass),but I know a killer camp spot that is right outside of Eglin property, right
on the bay"The Point".Great fishing and free.I'll be on vacation the whole week before this weekend,in Arkansas,
and can shoot out to Florida a lil early.I can also go and get everyones passes"whoever has one now,I believe
will be expired".All I'll need is a copy of your drivers liscenses.
My Uncle lives right there and would be stoked to guide us.He knows the trails perty good. He's got a big'ol TJ,
and a dual sport if you want to tow yer bike Scott"sand is a lil tricky on a bike though".

Who's in............

I marked it on my schedule and will do my best to be there.

Sorry if I spoke wrong, saying that the passes allow camping. I must have an upgraded pass???? It was $15 and is good until July of '09.
Alright, lets make this happen.

Hood, will this date work for you?

I'm retired Army with the window stickers so I shouldn't have any problems.

Full, you'll be cool.I know you military guys stick together. My Uncle is ex-military and loves to go to his Marine club meetings,so I'm sure you guys will hit it off.
Besides,I've been wheeling there for the last two years and haven't seen one MP yet.Everyone else should expect
to get a pass, just in case.

Hey Hood, hows this date work for you?And you think you could talk Endurance into a trip?

Dang, that is crazy! 7th Birthday! Your dad lets your drive his (very cool) KJ at such a young age?
I didn't get to start driving until I was about 14 and that was only in the middle of Barin Field where no other
cars were.

Ah, you are still a youngster!
I mean that in the nicest way. Wish I was closer to your age.
And such a Bad Azz ride. Count your blessings, you are fortunate.

Back on subject:

Lets plan on meeting up somewhere to ride over to Eglin.
Do you take the beach road over or go through Foley and take
hwy 90 or 98?

My folks live on Cty road 20 (Miflin) so that is where I'll be coming from.

I plan to take the beach route, it typically 55 mph or under, which is much more fuel friendly. Yea, I am fortunate but I feel I earned it, I worked for all of these mods, and got the jeep from my dad and just took over payments. But I am very thankful.

Taylor 8) ,
Yes, I saw a previous post a while back where you said you took over payments and then once you had it paid off you were able to start doing some mods.
Didn't mean to imply that you were forunate because you were 'given' something that you didn't earn. Just that you have a very nice ride in my opinion, and at a young age. I say Good going and enjoy it. Heck, I think it is great that you worked to make payments and paid for the mods. I know several young folks that are older than you and have still not had a job! Of course, they will tell you they have earned everything they have (I guess because a parent is paying them $50 to carry the trash to the curb!). Alright, about to be on my soap box so I will back away for now...

We will have to come up with a place to meet up. Going the beach route is a good bit out of my way so maybe we can meet somewhere where our routes come together... Or just meet at a gas station on the exit to Eglin. Your call.

Oh i know you didnt mean to imply anything bud.

But how is taking 98? do you get on I-10? 65mph+ is where my economy drops fast. I'd like to try and travel in a group. It would be easier and defiantely look cooler. but Just PM me to move this out of the thread.

I spoke to my FJ Cruiser buddy (the guy who took me the first time to the Eglin area) and he says he sounds interested in going with us.

Hood, I'll eventually hit you PM style on a meeting place. Depending on what time your group wants to head over, I might just ride over to your area to going the convoy... even though it is out of my way.

Sweet! I thought you had already said you couldn't make it. Maybe I am dreaming,
wouldn't be the first time. Bub can give more details on passes. I don't know if the
office is open open on weekends to give out passes. I have a pass that allows camping also
and it was $15 for the year so you could go that way.... Or hotels are close enough. Bring
the wife... and the KJ. The KJ will be totally safe there, at least if you can control where \
you drive it!!
I am telling you, this place is one heck of a bang for the buck!

Jason,Ride is still on for the 8th&9th
Hotel on I-10 and 87 is close. Also sure there are places in Navarre. But if yall are the camping type, camping is definately on the table.
Hwy 87,south of I10 Holley area
Can't get a pass the day of,but I'm thinking I might be there a day early to get everyones passes if I can swing it.
Definately can join in"southern lost trip without J.T.?Come on now"
Bring the wife and both jeeps.Perty sure she'll have more fun behind the wheel.I'll probably be the only one not lifted,so she'll have no problem with a lifted KJ.
