That looks good, Bub. Did you fabricate a bracket to hold it in place, or is it just sitting there? I'm pretty happy just running EHM, but I may be interested in doing the Provent if I could install it with clear hose to and from, to make sure no oil is going into my intake.

You given any thought to what you want to do? Do you feel like tackling the shift kit? I'm up for it if either of you are. Here is a link describing the install: http://liberty.eurekaboy.com/transgo.htm

I would be most concerned about:

A.) Breaking something expensive (I'm kind of clumsy. . . )
B.) Soldering the new wiring harness (did I mention I'm kind of clumsy?)

That looks exactly like the one I got. I first got one at Harbor Freight but it didn't work, then went and tried one from Wal-Mart and it worked perfectly. Do you currently have a Check Engine Light on?

Well if you had an EGR malfunction you would get a CEL. When the MAP sensor gets real caked up, you'll get a "Turbo Underboost" code. Here's a link to instructions for cleaning it. I'm planning on pulling mine Saturday.

Bub, you rock for picking up the Provents and your willingness to drive to Livingston Parish.

Mack, you rock for offering up your casa to complete unknowns to come invade your space.

Looking forward to meeting you guys, and enjoying some fine brisket, brew, and (hopefully) successful CRD mod installations.

Mack, should I bring any other food, or anything? I hate to come use your stuff without bringing something more than beer that you may or may not drink. I have a nice bottle of Port that you're welcome too, and I can pick up anything that needs to be added to the smorgasbord.

P.S., I'm going to pick up some heat-resistant clear hose for the Provent-to-intake line. Mack, do you want me to get you some?

heres MY thinking.

do what ya'll want. ill watch. i OWN the place, so i dont NEED to do much (and take away from ya'll using it)

so ill cook, be a host, ask questions and watch....

ill be glad to take donations for food/shop use. not looking for either, but i wont turn them down (usually i do)

thanks for getting my provent!

is there a way to check/clean the egr? i cleaned the map (it was very dirty) and my wife has been saying the jeep is hard to start.

i put the GDE kit on today, and will get a feedback report tomorrow. but i am curious if my egr is stuck open......

Bub, I thought it was 5' of 3/4" ID hose and 1' of 1" ID hose? Confused. . . :?

Mack, the EGR valve itself is on the back side of the engine on the turbo side. Here are some pics of the valve, http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=22702 , but methinks the engine would have to come up and forward to adequately access it with man-hands. Location of the valve here: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=22703

I am pretty sure that if you have an EGR malfunction, whether stuck open or closed, you would get a CEL. Hard starting could be an issue with the fuel filter head, other members have had problems with air in the fuel because of the plug design on the head I have not had any problems, (knock knock) but still plan on installing a lift pump in the future to avoid any possible issues.

I have noticed easier starting after getting the GDE, though.

Ahhhhh. Gotcha. So I will pick up: 5' of 3/4" ID clear heat-resistant hose, 1' 1" ID hose, 5' of 1/2" ID hose (for drain  ) and hose clamps various and sundry.
