if anyone wants to come "look" at the crd before then, so i know what to order to fix it... im all ears...

btw. i have a 20" by 48" pit..... if ya'll want ill be happy to smoke a brisket and do some homeade burgers....

i generally bbq and work in the shop every single sunday.

other than that, i dont really have much to do.

i dont have any crd specific tools, but i do have a lathe, a mill, and can weld aluminum, stainless, mild steel and have air tools, torque wrenches and a 16,000lb 2 post lift and tire machine (no balancer though)

Bub/ Mcinfantry, have either of you installed your own lift? Shag, I know you had yours done - Light Line, right?

I'm wondering about the relative merit of installing the Frankenlift and leaving the trans work for another time - after it's easier to get under the Jeep, maybe? :o

i have not modded the liberty. but i have installed/built lifts on other things.... we can do it.. im sure.

if anyone NEEDS to, you can have parts shipped here. i have a forklift.

I would never turn down smoked brisket. . .

Have you tried pulling your MAP sensor to see if it is gummed up?

I don't think I can pass on smoked brisket.I'm in.
Hey Mac,Reliable Filter has the cheapest Provents around,I could pick up a willcall,if you looking to provent.Same for LW.
Cleaning the MAP sensor costs nothing and will DEFINATELY help if never cleaned  .
Samco's are cool,a bit pricey, but takes 5 min to install.
Fuel filter takes five min.
Belt swap is fun,but not bad.
Did two SEGR's

I'll probably have my chainsaws 20"Stihl and Stihl ext. polesaw with me if you need some chopping or pruining.

Ya'll wanna meet, say, 9:00 am? Or is that to early to start drinking beer . . . I mean, working? Bub, you've got the farthest to go, so let us know what works for you.

Mack, I'm going to be tied up all weekend. My wife's 10-year high school reunion is this weekend (Lame :? I hated high school) and I committed to doing that with her. How bout we do this. . .

What are some mods you may be interested in? I'm running an Elephant Hose Mod, venting my crankcase straight to the atmosphere. Keeps the oil out of my intercooler and hoses, but not the prettiest setup. I have kitty litter on my garage floor to catch the drip. Bub is running a Provent, which is better for the environment and prevents an oil slick ($150 where you get it, right Bub?) and is a relatively easy install - it only requires that you mount the filter assembly itself somewhere under the hood. Either one of these will keep the oil in your intake to a minimum.

What would you be looking to accomplish in modding? Longevity? Fuel economy? Better performance? More ground clearance? A solid front axle? The world is your oyster, tell us what you want to do.

If you want to do a fuel filter, I'll be glad to pick one up for you. Shags needs to change his fuel filter, I think. I hope he can make it.

I'd say an EHM or a Provent. If the wife mostly drives it, then keep in mind that you will get some "territory marking" from the EHM, as oil will drip out of it. This does not happen with the Provent.

You already pulled your ECU and sent it off to GDE?

I would plan on pulling the intercooler hoses and inspecting and possibly cleaning them.

That's cool, they didn't offer that when I did mine. Jeep was down from Saturday to Wednesday, since I didn't get it in the mail till Monday morning. I think you will definitely like the tune.

Bub knows a place in LaPlace that sells the Mann-Hummel Provent for $150; I think he offered to pick one up for you if you want. I know he installed one in his and in another CRD'ers truck, so he knows what he's doing.

Something you may want to do is check your intercooler hoses beforehand. If you run your hand along them and they are sweating oil then they are a liability. If you feel like putting out $300+, a set of Samco hoses is the way to go. I ordered mine from Boostcontroller.com and got them in 3 days.

Mac I've got the Stihl MS360(relief valve is NICE) and the Pro ext.Pruiner.I'd like to learn shapening technique.

You can order the Provent from this place(cheapest around),and I can pick it up Will-Call.They're right around the corner from my shop.Picked up the Shagsters for him.
http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=43828
If you want,I could buy all that is involved(minus the 1' of 1"hardwall)around 50 bucks worth of goods(if ya want the goodstuff)
or I can give you a list of goods needed. If you want to install that day,and you have a marina near you(thinking mabe not),and can score a foot of 1" hard OR softwall hose,we can do it.
Mac,you're NOT a beer drinker,is wine your thing(cause I've got a good bottle hang'n round),or you take the herbal approach?
 8)

I want to:

Pull my MAP sensor and check to see if it needs cleaning.

Do a four-tire rotation. (while I have access to a two-post lift - thx Mack)

Change transmission fluid/ filters. Still considering the Transgo shift kit, just not sure if I want to tackle that install. I want to send off a sample of my trans fluid to Blackstone for analysis.

Bub, do you have pics available of your Provent install? I might be interested in doing that. I don't have a snorkel (yet. . . 8) ) so I may not have the same kind of real estate under the hood as you.

Mack, do you have enough waste oil pans for a trans drain? Specs say it holds 14 quarts though I doubt we'll get that much out of it.

As for tools, I'm planning on bringing my basic ratchet set.

As for refreshments, I have a bottle of Port from a small winery in Missouri that I have yet to open. Does anyone like Port?
