Post subject:  Well, I talked to the wife. . .

K.D. (my wife) is a great gal. However, she reminded me of 2 things. . .

1. Our fifth anniversary is this October, and we are looking at taking a trip to Ireland. That pretty much kills the Frankie until early 2010, unless somebody knows where I can get a bargain on a CRD Frankie II Premium. If you're gonna do it, do it right, huh?

2. Her high school 10th anniversary reunion is 8/29, and she already paid for both of us. I remembered, when I first started this thread, that 8/15 and 8/29 were out, but I couldn't remember why 8/29 was out when I posted earlier.

Of course, if 8/29 works better for everyone else, then I could just come early and help with other's work then scoot to go to the reunion thing. Ya'll chime in and let's get this thing on the calendar.

Still haven't heard from Lib 2.8, too.

Updated the date in the title, as some on here seem to be tied up Labor Day Weekend Saturday.

If we need to move it up a week, we need to get it set, yo.

Or maybe we could move it back a week, to 9/12/09? Whaddya'll think?

LW pick a date and I'll be there.

I personally would prefer to do it Saturday the 5th of September, as long as it works for McInfantry. I also think that since McInfantry is hosting, we need to be flexible to accomodate his schedule - and make sure he doesn't pay for any beer/ food/ Mickey's fine malt liquor.

Totally agree with ya LW.Hopefully he's got a pit and I'll be glad to show up with some meat and man the pit.
I'll save the mickeys for my drinking alone days, and bust out the Guiness for the special occasions.

I PM'ed McInfantry the other day to try to finalize the date, and he hasn't replied yet. Lib2.8 said they're doing a garage sale that weekend, so he won't make it and Kntyrgurl is out too. That leaves you, me, McInfantry, and shaggy. Have you heard from the shagster?

You ever try a Snakebite, Bub? Where you mix Woodchuck/ Hornsby's with Guiness? Good stuff.

I'm telling you, it's worth at least trying. . .

Me, I've been on a diet for about a month now, and have been wandering in the desert of Mich Ultra, Miller Lite (man that is the WORST beer I have ever tasted) and other light beers. I find Bud Light Lime to be pretty palatable, but Sam Adams Light and Abita Light are actually good.

But enough about the frosty goodness on a Jeep forum. I still haven't heard back from McInfantry about finalizing the date. Man I hope our workday doesn't fall through.

Aw LW,I'd give anything a try,I use to "Black & Tan",back whan they were giving out that herone spoon with the
Christmas set.Member that?

Hey,don't fool yerself with that light beer thing. They're weak and make you drink twice as much.
Go for the strongest stuff to ensure less calories.I've been on a "Wild Blue" phase for well over a year now.
8%,Shaggy's had one, like to knock him off his feet.

Hey if you don't get in touch with McInfantry,we might be having this thing on Labor day without you.   :x

Mack hasn't dialed me back yet, so. . . ?? :?

Shags hit me back today that his plans are still up in the air, so I guess he'll be last minute if at all. I know Lib2.8 and Kntrygurl are out. That leaves you and me for sure, and hopefully McInfantry. I'd really like to see that Dodge of his, man.

Maybe I'm not old enough (a youngster at 30) but I don't remember any promotional black and tans. I've always had those with Guinness and Bass, and I like the Snakebite better.

Wild Blue? What is that? I hope you're not talking about Blue Moon, that Miller-made wheat beer. I love me some Andygator - that's sum strong stuff raht thur. It used to only be available on draft, but here recently Abita started putting it in 22 oz bottles for the home-drinking masses. But of course, draft is always best.

Maybe if we invite Mack to a kegger at his place he'll answer. . . ?

Naw,Wild Blue is a blueberry beer that has a serious kick to it.Good stuff.
Funny that you mention the Blue Moon,I just scored a few 12'ers of the Blue/Full/Pale Moon combo's for 5 bucks each at the salvage store in
Folsom La.Couldn't pass up the deal.

$5 for a 12-pack? We're talking Pabst territory here. Whoooo, PBR. . . .

I'm not much on wheat beer, myself. I was for a while - I got started with Sam Adams Cherry Wheat and Abita Purple Haze, but then my taste for it just. . . fizzled. I think I prefer the bite and aftertaste of a more hoppy beer. The wheat beers I've had all seemed to finish sweet.

I still haven't heard from mcinfantry, so I don't know what's going on. :?
