I specifically asked Marlin about a spring compressor and he said no. The fronts come preassembled top plate to new clevis. (no ratchet strap to get the old clevis back on) I'm thinking we should be able to fit the rears by jacking up the opposing side of the axle, huh? Rear coils are Skyjackers.

Yep, new, thinner clevis less likely to damage the CV boot.

I emailed Marlin again about the spring compressor, and he said NO. He is supposed to send me an install instructions .pdf with a tool list on it. When I get it, I will post it here.

I'd really like to come meet some of you guys. But don't know if I can make it or not. Where exactly will this be in case something changes?
I haven't decided on which lift for my '05 sport. Kinda interested in the JBA's, know it's expensive but if it keeps me from having to replace the coils, etc. later on, and gives me a better highway ride, might be worth it.

Ok, BAD NEWS.

My cummins has a blown head gasket. I am going to try and work on it asap. Problem is if I can't (my back is f'ed up) I may have to pay someone. I'll see if I can make enough room/space to leave my truck in the shop and still fit a liberty.... Other problem is the guys I have that help me are both busy till Friday.

The 4BT Cummins in the Beast?

I'll be back in town Friday night late, but could come early on Saturday morning and try to help. Based on the information I'm gathering, the suspension install should be about 4.5 to 6 hours with the right tools - the rear especially should be a snap. I'm definitely down to pull double duty.

Here is a tool list (very simple)

REQUIRED TOOL LIST:
* Metric and Standard wrenches and sockets (Need a 1&7/16" socket for the axle nut)
* Allen Wrenches
* Assorted Drill Bits
* Floor Jack
* Jack Stands
* Measuring Tape
* Torque Wrench

I gotta run by NAPA this evening and get coolant, I'll get a 1&7/16" socket while I'm there just in case.

The anticipated time for install is about 4 hours without doing the rear brake lines, but since mine's an 06 I have to redo the rear lines. The kit includes SS brake lines, so I added .5 - 1.5 hrs. I guess it all depends on how motivated we are and how much beer we drink in the process. :5SHOTS:

I was hoping to get started early, maybe even as early as 7:00 am? :shock: If we knock it out early, I can stay and help with the Cummins in whatever capacity I can while Bub heads out to the woods with Hydraulic Jack.

It's your place man, you call the shots.

Bub, you gonna get lost on the way this time? :mrgreen:

So is 7:00 am OK for everyone?

If you can't get there for 7:00, Bub, I'll start on taking out the stuff under the hood to access the strut towers and maybe start on the rear till you get there.

How about food? I figured I'd purchase some cow meat and prep it for the grill, and get a 12-pack of something fantastic.
