I doubt that the water will be that deep unless it really starts raining soon, And the wake you make by driving the right way will prevent your rig from taking on water. My intake is stock but i have pulled the air feed away a little from the box, incase it needs to get air from inside the engine bay, like if the air tube gets blocked.

Last year I was in a stock CRD with stock tires and had no problems. The water was a little deep in spots but you'll be in a group of people that won't let you get in over your head.

funny story, wish it would have happened... The new president of our agency just bought a H3 and one of the top sales guys I know bought a FJ, they both were talking as I walked by and stoped me to ask about the dirt and mud on my jeep, they were wanting to know if I could show them how to use their 4WD systems... Almost got them to come this time but they didnt want to risk scratching their rigs. Im going to take them out to May Town and get them covered in mud as soon as the next big rain comes, nice big open mud pit back in the middle of no-where LOL.

Scouted out about 3 different sets of rims but unsure of the lug spacing, waiting on return emails. Im still looking for some used ones, cheap like 100-150, L8R

Its still in the box :( haven't really had time to do it. I think I may strap the box to the roof rack so I can finally say "I have a lift on my Liberty"

Well I think we should meet at SR 19 and CR 42 at the Kangaroo Express in the small town of Altoona. They have a big parking lot and that always seems like a good place to meet. I think 10 am is a good time to meet. That should give the guys from Tampa easy driving time without having to get up at some unholy hour. You should plan for a lunch for you and your rider. There is some food where we will be meeting but none after that. So bring a cooler and some drinks.

Now the rules!!!! NO ALCOHOL, NO DRUGS, NO RECKLESS DRIVING, NO UNLICENSED DRIVERS, NO UNINSURED VEHCILES!!!! Guys use your heads, were representing 4x4'ers everywhere and LOST. If we go out and act like fools, we'll be doing harm to the sport we love.

We will stay on marked trails, and if anyone decides to do something stupid or leave the trail, you’re on your own. Fines in the Ocala Forest range some where between $250 and $2000. We will be following the Tread Lightly rules.

Here’s an LOSTKJWEST Safety check list.

http://lostkjwest.com/tech/The%20Lost%2 ... cklist.pdf

We can get away with a little less than this due to some of us have some really good recovery gear. I should be able to cover recovery for our small group but that a good list to help you prepare your KJ or other 4x4.

Since we really don’t have a leader you guys print these and bring them with you. I’ll try to remember to have some extras. I don’t see a whole lot of issues but since we are organizing through LOST I believe we should sign these and file them some where……….Mudtrac did you get these last time??

http://lostkjwest.com/lostholdharmless.pdf

Any more questions??

Wes

Dont sweat the recovery stuff, youll be fine. You dont have to have hooks to get recovered... And anyways, I dont think that there will be all that much muck and water to go though, been kinda dry, But wet enough not to be a dust bowl.

Wes we handed the hold harmless forms out last time but I dont think that we ever got them back. I think that this time we need them signed before we ride, just incase someone gets stupid you know.

I hope it rains this weekend or next week so we'll have a little water. I know that they just finished some controled burns also in the south side of the forest, so we might want to do some west side rides, back west of the RR grade, or back towards the bombing range. I have the topos of where Im tlaking about. Ill try and scan them and post them in PDF and have them up for download by the weekend so everyone can be on the same page.

I was just thinking, if the Moabs are 16x8 with 5" Backspacing then would the 16x7.5 with 5.5 BS be about the same amount of outside finder action with the 245/75's? or will they sit further inside the fenders? Im not sure if the offset on the Moabs has more to do with this or not? I think the offset on the Mustang rims is only like 33

Tjfisher*CRD, don't worry about the tow hooks. I've recovered enough vehicles to get you out. Plus we won't let you get into anything that we think you'll get stuck in. The tow hooks make it cleaner to recover.
