thought we got all the noise out of it, when did it come back after the trail ride..? I said on saturday that you would need to go back thru and tighten all the bolts down one more time after the trail ride. where is the noise coming from? also those springs will need to break in and they will make nois untill they are worked out. Its good to snug eveything up a little.

the noise was still there. I even beat the poop outta the suspension on sunday. On the way home rob and I took some long road through the forest that was to but it kindly "bumpy". I'm sure it still has some settling to do, but the noise definately comes from the top of the struts. Everything down below is still tight as can be.

I think that if you tighten down the strut bolts that should fix it. Just FYI I will be working on getting those pictures posted soon. Are you thinking about working up another video soon? That trip down FR588 was a true test of the suspension.

yup i'm gonna make a video whenever you get the pictures on here or send them to me.

The road was something else, between not being able to see and boucing all over, I thought the jeep was going to fall apart, or I was going to end up in the woods if there was a turn.

Make sure you take some of the pressure off the spring before you try to tighten the strut nut. I had the dealer break one of the strut when they tried to tighten the top nut without compressing the spring.

thats what I was thinking. but at this point I'm so sick of thinking about it, if I don't get around to it, I'm just not going to fuss about checking.

I stoped by the dealership and just told them I just had the LBJ recall done and one of them is leaking grease (played dumb, it comes natural for me :D ) They put it on the lift, then came and told me it was defective, so they would order another and put it in ASAP...hehehe :D

HI ya'll. Its been a while but I hope everyone is good. Just an update. Tore the front suspensions down today, took the strut assembly to a shop and had them tighten the top nut. There is a good 1/4 inch of thread showing now. There is no more clanging or noises. rides very good and feels a lot safer. I even got some compliments at the gas station this week. one was "holy cr** is that lifted, that looks AWESOME!!!" me = thanks.... guy again= "I may get one so I can do that"

So thanks everyone again for the lift!!!! Let me know if anyone wants to ride....even though gas prices make me sick!

Yeah, the gas prices are going to limited my riding for awhile. Our gas budget has just been maxed out with just the wife driving back and forth to work in her car. So no gas money for the Jeep. :(

I wonder if we could switch over to LP gas? My stepdaughter got tired of getting her Chevy AWD stuck on the beach. So she went out and got a 2004 lifted Wrangler with Micky Thompson tires! Every time she got stuck I would tell her she should have called me to tow her out. She got tired of me teasing her I guess :D
