So lets start making plans now for the lift party. As we all know, after the lift is installed we HAVE to go and try it out. Everyone who wants to join in speak up. I'm in, who else. When and where are we doing it. Wes do you have the plans worked out. Let's get it organized now so everyone is ready and can make plans. Fulltimer said he is willing to come and help out.

Well,

I believe I have most of the tools, I'd say lets plan on 9 am for a start time. Don't get to excited about riding to much. The last Liberty I lifted took 8 hours. Jeep4me99, how are your ball joints?? Are they in good shape?? You should think about trying to get some new lower and uppers if they arn't in really good shape. The greesable moog lower ball joints are the best. Also you'll need for an alignment as soon as possible.

The only tool I don't have is a ball joint press, but I think my buddy Daniel has one I can use if we need to do the ball joints.

AND one other thing before I forget, get a can of WD-40 before the 31st. The day before the lift party you need to coat every thing on the front end except the brakes. Pop the center cap out of your front wheels and spray the CV axle nut to. I expect your jeep to have a little rust under there as many times as you've run down railroad grade.

Wes

Wes, My balls are in great shape!!! I just had the LBJ recall done 2 weeks...so they should be fine for about 4 more weeks before the next recall. I do plan on getting moogs and Al's A arms within 6 months. I have a can of WD-40 so i will spray everything down. We have to take off the CV axle nut for installation..hmmmm good thing I didn't try this myself!!!

If the lift takes all day...maybe we can ride sunday...it is my busy day at work (so much for rest on the 7th day), but i could get out at 2 or 2:30 again, maybe earlier with some persuasion of my clients.

Are we talking about the 24th.? That would work for me. The ride on the 25th. would be out because that's my birthday and the wife made plans. Due to some disabilities there isn't a lot that I could do to help but I make a pretty good "go-for" :D

I thought that we were talking about the 31st! Isn't that when we were going to do it. Let me know as soon as possible. I think that if we all work together we can knock it out pretty quick. I've never lifted a KJ but we can do it. We need more people that can help. We can also have a cook out. Com-mon people lets speak up and help a fellow Jeep brother.

By the way I was reading some of the old posts on this forum. Where are all the people and why haven't they been talking or chiming in on some of our comments. The purpose of this forum is to talk and get together as well as share information.

NICE!, yeah the 31st of March is when the lift party is happening. No ball joint replacement mean 4 to 5 hours. I can jack up all four corners and we can go to it. The hardest part is compressing the springs. But with the impact and some luck it shouldn't be to bad. We might not have to take the CV axle nut loose if where not changing ball joints. That will make things go a bit quicker.

Anyone up for some venison burgers? I have enough for all of us left over from GA hunting season. I can also bring some sweet tea and some chips if needed. I also have some tools, a 1 ton jack and 2 jack stands if needed. Let me know. Wes did you want to do this at your house or Byran's?

As for me venison sounds great! It has been a few years. I'll grab some chips, mustard, ketchup, relish and onions. Who wants to spring for the MAINE LOBSTERS?!

Terry

9:00AM on March 31st.

We can work at my house. I have the air tools and stuff but if anyone else wants to host they can. Mudtrac you've been to the house once I believe. I should have plenty of propane for the grill. I also have plenty of ice in the freeze. I'll spring for some burgers, chips, deserts, plastic plates and drink cups. I'm not to much into beer, if someone wants it bring enough for yourself. Should be a good time. I figure we'll start work about 9 to 10am and then start grillin early afternoon.

With Mudtrac we can get done even sooner, he's lifted a few libertys. I've installed two lockrights, and two powertrax no-slips so no problem if you want to install a locker while your here.

this sounds like its gonna be a great time...since we will have a bunch there....maybe we can do some servicing if people need oil changes, brakes, diff fluid changes too... i think the California group or some group out west did a service party. seemed like a great idea.

i've never had deer paties, but i'll give it a try.

lets start a list here of what people will bring

Bryan:
Cow burgers
Buns
Beer
canned soda
Mud / grease

Wes, would you have any objection to me bringing Charlie along??? He is a big baby, so there isn't any worry about biting kids, if anything he will try to lie on our laps while we are on the ground.
