i loved this time of year in florida. i would follow the nhc.noaa website everyday, hoping a storm would come near by. sure the direct hit from wilma sucked. but man was it awesome to go through, now something like katrina would be a different story.

We were hit by Katrina in South Florida before New Orleans was. But, there were not multitiudes of disenfranchised poor people displaced so we didn't make the news. There was also no looting or police officers leaving their posts.

We had a lot of flooding in Brevard County, 30 inches of rain in some areas. Lots of those zero lot line 'hoods had water in their homes. I drove all over town on Wednesday checking everything out.
