Post subject:  Citrus WMA Inverness, FL 9/26 - 9/28
I am organizing a ride to this great area during the last weekend of Sept. There are elements of the South Florida Jeep club going up and we will be guided by the local club; "Citrus Jeepers" (awesome guys).
Anyway, I am trying to give plenty of notice so my LOST brothers can plan to go. I have been there once before and I can tell you that it's a great place to wheel.

My plan is to drive up after work on Friday and get there between 8 & 10PM. The plan is to wheel all day Saturday then after dinner, Citrus Jeepers is going to put together a night poker run (tons of fun). There are nice campsites there as well as a brand new Holiday Inn Express directly across the street from the WMA.

Please consider going, make plans now, it would be nice to not be the only KJ on these runs!

It's a great time, you'll thank me for it if you go.

It's getting closer to the target date, we have 10-15 rigs going (only 1 KJ) and lots of great people. This will be a family oriented event so if you have kids, feel free to bring them. There will even be a non-denominational service on Sunday morning for those who chose to keep holy the sabbath.

Peeps from Mile Marker might be going.....Could be your big chance to get with the "in crowd" :D

I eat lunch at the same place their Engineering R&D crew does so I invited them today.

We could even declare is the annual ride so it does not become the bi-annual ride.....there is only 3 months left before that tradition is killed off forver!

Well...I guess I can declare it that so the tradition lives for you guys after I move back to UT.......Oh yeah....this could be your last opportunity to go wheeling with me!!!!! 8)

I replaced my EGR valve and I am still having major drivability issues! So instead of being able to go up th Citrus, I have to work on the Jeep some more this weekend.

If anyone was planning to go, everyone is staying at the Holder Mine campground in the forest. It's easy to get to from the road. Most guys will be there Friday night and will start wheeling Saturday morning. There will be a poker run Saturday night for cash prizes.

Reports from the forest is it's dry as a bone so there is no worries of deep water.



There is another run planned between Christmas and New Years.

I was able to get my Jeep squared away in time for the trip. I just got home from a very successful outing! We had 20 or so rigs one of which was a KJ.

Look for photos posted in the other section soon.


As a reminder, we have another trip coming up in between Christmas and New Year.

Bump for a great place to go. The ONF is not as good as this place with lots of trails with obstacles and everything.

Keep in mind this was a post from 2008.. I will not be there this September. I always went with the Citrus Jeepers. Great time and even caves to explore.
