Can anybody recommend a good shop in Tallahassee that could put my Magnaflow muffler on my CRD?.... All I need is for someone to hack of the stock muffler and weld/clamp on the new one, with a small piece of extension pipe. Preferably stainless steel welds/clamps....

I've called 5-6 places and most have given me estimates of > $70!!! Midas said it would be $100+ :x

Come over to Saint Augustine and get it done where I did. Then I'll show you around the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the USA. Founded in 1565.

I can't remember the name of the place that I went to but it was South on Monroe past the capital building ... It's on the ride side adjacent from that audio shop that is down that way. Sorry for the broad directions ... They did a whole muffler back setup on my KK and haven't had any issues.

Hey Mike08 after you get that lift I think you need to come break it in over at Eglin reserve.

Well it's first run will be next Saturday the 8th. The local club is having its monthly M&G with a ride after. I'll definitely hit you up soon and make a trip out there. I really wanted to go on the 4th but couldn't work it out ... I will make it out there soon!!!

I'm from Tallahassee (6th-gen), going to school in AZ.

Muffler comes in Friday. I found one place that said they could do it for $50, Jones Auto Electric and Muffler. Hopefully I can get this taken care of early next week, as I leave for AZ on the 19th.

Magnaflow #12226. 2.5", straight pipe, center/offset.

I needed something with no resistance (to improve mpg and driveability) but that keeps me legal in case I register in a state with muffler regulations (like AZ). With a CRD, I don't really have to worry about increased noise.

Would having the shop weld it in with regular wire work alright? My father is somewhat insistent on stainless steel everything...

If anyone from Tallahassee can make a recommendation, I'm still open for ideas!

I'll be sure to post a review here after I see him next week. Just to let folks know where to go for a quality, cheap muffler job :)

Alright, so I ended up having Adams Street Services Center do the job for just $40. I took them only 30 minutes, quick and easy. My only complaint is that they welded in an extension pipe of 2.25", not 2.5" like I had asked. No big deal, though, as I don't see how a difference of .25" can really restrict airflow that much... it was far more important to get the junky stock muffler out of there!

For what it's worth, the new muffler grants a noticeable improvement in drivability and power. I can hold speed at lower RPMs and coast much more easily!

Thanks rutdggr. I look forward to meeting you all at TBP tomorrow! 8)
