Going to spend the New Year with the family down in Jacksonville this year. Leaving PA on the 28th, and plan on staying about a week. What's going on around then? Hangover run???

Don't really know of anything that's going really other than the typical local band playing cover songs at the Landing friday/saturday nights. They might be having fireworks or something at the landing for new years.
If you feel like wheeling while you're down here then check out the local 4x4 forum for upcoming stuff.

Jax landing can be fun.

And I highly suggest taking ride over to Amelia Island. The historic pirate hide-away town of Fernandina Beach is located on the island. Last time I was there (10 years ago) there was a area where one could drive on the beach. Maybe someone will chime in and let you know if that is still allowed. Amelia is one of, if not the most beautiful unspoiled beaches in all of mainland Florida. At least it was last time I visited.

You could take a ride to St. Augustine...see the Castillo De San Marcos. It's pretty cool.

The fort there is kinda boring... :| Well, if you're been there for like 10 field trips.. lol
Huguenot Park beach you can still drive on and reserve camping spots for tents/rv's.
In Amelia Island you can drive on the beach, at the southern end.

Says it in the last paragraph.

I did 4 tours down in Jax (Cecil, NAS and 2 at Mayport), so I know what is in the area.

I was more wondering what the LOST Jeepers were doing down there about that time. Any runs, meet-n-greets, etc.

There's two forums that I know of down here. They often have runs and meetings and such that are usually fun.
Just like last night they went on a night ride in Ocala.
Here's the upcoming section's for each forum.

Anybody wanna help me wrench tomorrow morning? Replacing all the control arms, shocks, swaybar links, shocks and steering stabilizer. Gotta get rid of this death wobble before I head back home.

I'd be up to help but I'll just be getting off work and be wayy too tired. Terry might be up to help though.
