I am heading out towards vero beach from Tampa next weekend, are there any beaches on the east coast that let you drive on them?

I did a search and can't find anything. I know Daytona used to.

thanks!

I drove on Daytona Beach last year so I'm sure you can unless they changed since last year.

I think Daytona is the only beach on the east coast of Fl. that allows you to drive on the beach and I was up there two weeks ago. I know for a fact Brevard, Indian River and St. Lucie countys dont allow any typ of vehicles on their beach's

Definitely no where to drive on the beach in this area other than Daytona. Check the Daytona Beach city website, seems rules change with the tide in that city. I think what ever policy can make the most revenue for them is what they go for.

Daytona Beach will let you drive on it, St. Augustine Beach, and Velano Beach you can drive on. I live in St. Augustine, and I'm on them all the time. I was at Velano yesterday, very soft and lots of fun, especially when you leave the 4X4 off

Thanks FL RENNY.

OK, how about my neck of the woods along the Gulf. Anywhere on the west coast?

Well aside from the courtney campbell causeway which is hardly a beach there is the dunedin causeway. Not much of a beach there either lots of rocks but you can launch watercraft from both. CCC on clearwater side you have to pay on weekends during summer and its located next to a water treatment plant. I usually go to dunedin to launch my waverunner.

St. Augustine for sure. I'll be there the last week in July renting a condo an having some fun on the beach. If I can remember, I will bring a rope to pull out anyone stuck and get to test the torque of the CRD.

Bringing this from the dead but there are a few more beaches you can drive on on the east coast of FL. You can drive on the beach at Huguenot Park in Jacksonville, Vilano beach in St. Augustine, Nassau Sound which is a little further north of Huguenot park. Nassau sound even has a sing saying you MUST have 4wd to drive on the beach. If you don't you WILL get stuck.

Saint Augustine has about 4 beaches back to back that you can drive on. I would have to check but I think it is around 10 or 12 miles altogether. The 1 section, at the south end, is scheduled to close to driving but I don't know when. These beach are actually on Anastassia Island.

By Tampa I go to Gandy alot.

East coast: Ponce Inlet is my favorite beach. Surf there is killer. New Smyrna too. You can drive on alot really all up and down the coast, especially in north FL.
