Well about 6 months ago I bought these to replace my worn 245/75/16 Treadwright guard dogs, they are now sitting on a buddies cj3a. Decided since my wifey was taking over KJ duties I wanted a tire a little more tame. And to say the least I am impressed by these tires. I scored 4 265/70/16 tires, mounted, balanced, front end alignment, and 1.5" wheel spacers bought & installed for under $600. They are whisper quiet on the road, and ride so much better than the load range e treadwrights, in the mud they are actually a win, they're no bogger, but I'd put them right up there with the bfg at's they cleared the mud and sent nice rooster tails 20' in the air! In the snow, I couldn't get them to break traction. we had a 6" snow *southeastern NC* we had a few months ago, I gave a guy in a f-150 who slid into a drainage ditch a tug to help him out and they barely slipped on the fluffy white stuff. In the sand these things take charge, i've probally logged 1000 miles on the sand and they just rock, air them down to 15 psi and you float like your in a boat. The guardogs were heavy and would leave me bogging down in the powdery sand, not these! I even let my wife go to the beach without me cuz i feel confident that unless she tries to get stuck there's no way in hell shes not coming home. Lastly i had a 4 mpg improvement around town, the treadwrights were around 80lbs a peice, I dont think all 4 tires weight about 80 now lol.

The only con I've seen is in the rain, they tend to want to veer and slip in the heavier rainfall. And when you hit a puddle hydroplaning is a concern. But for all the pluses, and there cheap price, and the fact that we have 15k on them and they're not showing ANY wear! when they do wear out I'll probally look for another set.

Two questions:

1) What lift do you have?

B) You are running stock alloy wheels, right? So were the wheels spacers a MUST to make those 265s fit, or was that just a personal choice?

You also need to post pics. :)

I'm running the daystar budget boost on the Liberty, hopefully soon to be full OME all the way around. My front shocks are about dead, I've had the BB on for about 2 years and 40K miles and it still rides okay, a little stiff.

Yes you are going to need spacers if your running stock alloys, and if you will have to do some surgery to your plastic liners.... I ripped those out years ago so it wasn't an issue. I did have to take my factory foglight bulbs out since the tire would rub slightly on them. But i didnt have to do much fender trimming.

HOPEFULLY, the next tires I'll be running on that liberty will be in the 35-36" range. My wife wants the jeep to have a higher stance lol. And I have a HP44 sitting in a junkyard with name painted on it  Just have to wait a lil over a year so I can take a loan out against my 401k      who needs retirement when you have a SFA KJ?

pics will be soon, im working hard on my coyote cherokee, have really neglected the KJ.
