And what would your recommendation be for someone considering the Trxus tires such as yours?

They are loud, can be a pain to balance and won't last as long as an AT on the roads.

On the positive side, they are great in the mud, great on the rocks, have worn well for an MT so far(got almost 10,000 on them already and they look great) and they were inexpensive.

I wanted to run the SSRs but I didn't know anyone who was running them so I didn't want to buy em and have them last like 15,000 miles. If I had my choice I'd be running Irok NDs but they only come in a 245/75/16 and not the 31s I run. I would also look at the new BFG MT KM2s but they are limited in tires sizes as well.

"incubusmike" I had MTRs on my 2 different TJs and the first set I bought all 5 for $250 for all 5 tires and wheels and they lasted less than 10,000 miles.

???? - What did you do to them? - I bought used MTR's and added 30K more miles & a trip to Moab - considering the stuff I ran over they seemed fairly indestructible (heavy/noisy and 2-3 mpg hit - but indestructible)

Most of the rocks here in NV are friggin sharp I guess but it isn't like they are worse than CA, CO, or AZ. They just got really cut up and eventually (fairly quickly) they were missing big chunks of rubber from the treads. I could have driven them longer than 10,000 but they were impossible to balance at that point so they just got worse and worse. Louder and louder, more and more vibration. Never gonna buy em again.

HHMMMM,you just don't like any tires.

After 3 sets of MT/R's with all going over 30,000miles and still having over 1/3 tread left with the last set getting grinded on the granit here in CO I had no cuts or flats ever.No balancing issues at all and they held there balance better than any tire I ever had before.I would highly recommend them for any terrian, they kick butt in mud no matter what anyone says, like any other tire you need some wheel spin to clean them out. They are best under a heavy rig also.I would have gotton them for my SFA swap but due to the Iraq and Afganistan wars finding 35" MT/R's is next to impossible so after the advice of some hardcore wheelers I chose the Toyo Open Country MT's after they swore by MT/R's and found the Toyo's beat the MT/R's on the rocks hands down.

Oh and your wrong about the Toyo's,there 100 times better then the Trxus MT's I'm running now. These Trxus MT's are shot after 15,000 miles, won't balance at all, won't wear right at any psi and a perfect alignment, don't like going under 15psi without beadlocks, have fairly weak sidewalls, and are very unimpressive on rocks. They where okay at first but a nightmare now.At least I ran them know instead of getting them for my SFA swap, which was kinda the whole idea,to see if I liked them and if they where worth a darn, well they are not.

From my personal experiences I disagree with everything you said there, but as long as you like the Toyo then enjoy em. I won't let those or MTRs or BFG MTs near my KJ. Just from my own experience with them. I only have just over 9,000 miles on my Trxus and they have been head and shoulders above the MTRs I used to run but we'll see how they do after another 10,000. My MTRs never made it that far.

I do like tires just not any of the ones I mentioned. I'd consider Maxxis, Interco, Richard Cepek, Mickey Thompson, Parnelli Jones and BFG KM2s and that is about it.
