hehe, that's right Joe Jeep Owner.

Don't fear the M/T. They have really quited down and last a lot longer. On a plus side, they look more agressive and 'cooler'!

He's right...the only M/Ts that have stayed "traditional" are Mickey Thompsons and Super Swampers, hence their bad tread wear. My Destination's look super-aggresive with their sidewall lugs.

I was thinking of those too but at the time they didnt have the size I wanted in stock and I didnt feel like waiting. I was originally interested in the ATR's anyway so I went with them which I think was a great choice.

I dont know why more people dont consider these when shopping for tires, maybe because they have been branded as a low end or cheap tire?

I've owned Coopers and Mastercraft (the Cooper lower brand) and I loved both of them and never had any trouble out of them. I think the ATR is a good looking tire and it appears it would do well on the highway and in snow as well as dirt trails. But when it comes to really deep snow or deep mud, that ATR would become a racing slick in a hurry. No traction at all. Of course, that's just from appearance. I've never owned a set so I can't say from experience.

I havent had them in deep snow as of yet but I'm looking forward to it. They did good in 2-4 inches (obviously not deep) so hopefully they wont be too bad. You are right though, they do great on highway and dirt terrain. You never know though, if they turn into racing slicks in deep snow I might be back on here bashing them (go revos!) LMAO.

I was wondering what Mastercraft was, I see a few people with them and I didnt know who or what they were.

Yeah when I found out that Cooper makes Mastercraft tires, I decided to try a set. I got 265/75-16 Mastercraft MTs for about $90 per tire compared to $170-$200 per tire for Goodyear, BFGs, etc. So I literally got the Mastercrafts for half the price of name brand tires...and they looked good, took me everywhere the name brands would take me, and I never had a single problem out of them. So I'm a firm believer that you can get a good quality tire without buying a well known name brand.

Agreed, this is why I dont understand why they are so under rated. Oh well.

I think I got the ATR's for $105 out the door with the lifetime rotation, flat repair and all that good stuff. I would have looked into Mastercraft as well if I had know.
