I was speaking about the difference between 235 vs 265. Most everybody I rolled with that day had 265/75/16, one with 235/75/16 and one 245/75/16. It was obvious to me which vehicles made it down the trail easier. The other guys still didn't have too many issues really. I'm just stating what I observed in that environment on that day.

I won't even attempt to argue one size or the other but in comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges (whichever the case may be):
-The guy running the 235/85's was running Interco Trxus.
-He didn't air down before or during the ride.
-He was staying in two wheel drive switching to 4x4 only for what appeared to be the rough stuff.
-He did bury up while in 4x4 in the before mentioned hole in 4x4 and spun up in the soft sand several times while in 2 wheel drive having to switch to 4x4.

Now, I did see one of the guys air down but I don't know te status on the rest of the group. So I really don't know that we have any kind of scientific data or a base to compare.

Man I'm a... I mean "that guy" was a goober! :goink:

I will say that after wheeling with "That Guy" for a while,it takes an "OH crud" moment for him to break out the 4WD.
Now I on the otherhand shift in and out like it's a video game.

I can tell you this,"That Guys" 235 Trxus (not aired down),performed better offroad than my 245 KM2's (not aired down).

That's why I aired down this time.

For those not in the know, Interco makes the best off-road tires going. Period. It is not surprising that an Interco tire outperformed a BFG, which compromises for styling, streetability, and longevity. Having said that, unless the vehicles were almost identical, comparing tire "performance" involves many factors other than the actual tires in most situations.

Interco makes a great tire your right. But 'the best period'? Broad statement, and there have been a few of tires outperform them, Pittbull to name one.

I'm not as familiar with pitbulls as I should be.
