Post subject:  Tire Question-Trying to Differentiate

I am wondering if someone can tell me the difference between these three tires. Basically which ones do I want for my Liberty? Also, these are the Revo's if that matters.

245/75SR16 C

245/75SR16

245/75RR16 E

Thank you friends :)

245/75SR16 C

245/75SR16

245/75RR16 E

Thank you friends :)

The C and the E are load ratings. The one with out the letter is considered a Standard Load (SL) rating. The higher the letter the larger capacity.

For your example in increasing load capacity
245/75SR16
245/75SR16 C
245/75SR16 E

Higher load capacities have thicker sidewall that is more puncture resistant. Good for 4-wheeling. However, they are also heavier and will result in a stiffer ride along with a decrease in gas mileage.

The stock tires on a Liberty are SL (Standard Load).

The correct choice depends on what you want from a tire. The SL will do fine and if you stay on the road mostly and your 4-wheeling consisting of mainly gravel or sandy roads.

E load rating is the thickest and most resliant tire. Ideal for difficult and demanding 4-wheeling with lots of sharp rocks, tree bratches, etc.

C load rating is a decent compromise between the SL and E loading rating.
